{...Alone at the edge of the universe... Humming a tune...}
. . .
A shopbell rang out as I swiftly entered the florists, turning my face quickly only to greet the flower keeper with a small smile, my eyes then quickly turned back to my target.
I didn't bother looking at anyone for long, their faces aren't important enough. If they were, I would've seen it, and I would've thought it, though I hadn't done that. Not in a while, at least.
It's part of why I'm such a loner, only ever thinking about my own needs since I've been a child. Only ever thought of myself and my sister. It was us against the world. Until we began distancing each other, but who gives a fuck about that?
My attention turns to the singular blue rose I picked up. It was blue, like my tongue, eyes and sweater. I love blue things, in all honesty.
I gently took two more into hand, being wary of the thorns that the people who prepared these unnaturally colored flowers must have not taken the time to pick, which I understand can be time consuming.
Stepping over to the counter, I gently placed them on it, which the florist quickly took ahold of and counted together into the cash register.
...
"That'll be 56,84$." The florist said calmly, looking up at me with their emotionless-looking brown eyes. Despite their current exterior, I knew they were very nice on the inside.
...I handed them the money, gently taking back the 3 roses which have been wrapped together with a blue ribbon into a bowtie.
As I left the florists, I didn't even look back to wave, because why should I? It's not like anyone is gonna judge me from a single impression. It wasn't the first time I was there either way, if they even remember.
I passed many faces on the way back, which were all blurred together into my memory. They were a bunch of nobodys in my life. Just some randoms, strangers who I managed to see while on a daily basis outside. I rubbed my exhausted eyes as they turned to the park nearby my way home.
Nobody's there. Who would've guessed? At this time, there is barely anyone with time to just sit around at the park, and that's nothing knew. I've been in this town long enough to know.
I entered my house with a thud, taking off my shoes at the entrance and moved to the empty vase at the table. I placed the roses inside after 'carefully' taking the ribbon off.
...
I said nothing as I felt the rose thorns spike my fingers, seeing the blood which resulted at it, I flinched, though not much.
...I then went to the kitchen where I saw nobody. My little sister was probably upstairs, which wouldn't be a surprise. I poured a cup of water, before walking back to the living room, where the empty vase, flowers inside was still standing on the table.
I stepped closer and poured some water inside carefully, knowing not to pour too much.

I returned the cup back to it's original place after washing and drying it.
Not a busy day today. I headed back to my bedroom, continuing my usual, unchangeable routine.
Prologue end.
