when jamie hargrove woke up that next morning, she was in pain. her head ached, her feet and back ached. she ached. and she would never drink again.
her bed was a mess, but she remembered that someone had come home with her. surely she didn't drive herself back?
jamie slowly but surely made her way out of her room and into the kitchen, where max was sat at the table eating a bowl of cereal.
she smiled slightly at the sight of her sister, "good morning, jamie? did you have a good night?" she asked cheekily.
"don't even, maxine," jamie groaned, taking a seat next to her and placing her head on the table.
the two sat in silence for a moment, until max spoke up, playing with her spoon, "so? mr harrington?"
jamie's head lifted at the name, she turned to look at max with a blank look, "what?"
"steve," max stated, "the guy who literally brought you home and stayed the night, as i caught him leaving like four hours ago?"
"what!" jamie groaned.
"you don't remember any of that?" max laughed. jamie shook her head, putting her head in her hands. "i can't wait till i'm older and do that,"
"no!" jamie spoke, "i am not allowing that to happen!" max only giggled at her sister's annoyance. "so... let me get this straight, steve harrington brought me home at what time? about?"
"around 1:30am?" max answered.
"he brought me back at 1:30? and then what? did you speak to him? did he say anything?" jamie questioned, her thoughts running to quick to keep up with.
"i mean, we briefly spoke. he seemed cool. he took you to your room and he either slept on the floor or in your bed cause he then left in the morning," she shrugged. "so, you need to fill that gap with the man in question!"
jamie groaned in frustration. why on earth would steve harrington take her home? and why on earth did he stay overnight? jamie hargrove needed these questions answered, desperately.

the following monday took far too long to roll around for jamie's liking. she wanted these answers immediately.
the car ride to school was quiet and for once, the siblings didn't argue at all. this was a rare occasion for the trio, as billy usually had an issue with something, but for once, he couldn't think of anything worth arguing about.
throughout the day, she hadn't seen steve, but during last period she fortunately bumped into the boy she was looking for. "steve! hi!" she said excitedly.
"oh, hey jamie!" steve replied, slight confusion.
"where you heading? i've got a free and i really need to speak to you," jamie explained, beginning to walk in step with steve, following him to his destination.
