A/N: This chapter is a test run. I want to make sure I'm getting the brothers right and the way they fight and handle demons right. I am by no means a Supernatural expert. Any advice or constructive criticism on portrayal of Dean and Sam would be so appreciated. This is one story where I absolutely want a bunch of feedback.

The pale glow of the full moon practically exploded overhead, bathing the world in its eerie glow. A neighborhood full of cookie-cutter houses with white picket fences was completely silent beneath its haze. As crickets chirped and swing sets swayed in the night breeze, the sudden sound of a car stereo shattered the serenity.

Sam Winchester quickly reached for the volume and turned it all the way down, eliciting an annoyed look from his brother.

"Dean, I don't think the neighborhood needs to hear Nancy Wilson's guitar riffs at one in the morning on a school night," the younger Winchester calmly explained.

Dean lifted a skeptical brow and made a show of raising the volume back up a hair. "Sammy- everybody needs to hear Nancy Wilson's guitar riffs."

Sam rolled his eyes before losing himself in thought. Their latest hunt brought them to the suburbs of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Large enough to be considered one of the higher cities of the state, yet small enough for its residents to feel safe. But the Winchesters knew that no place was free of demonic activity. They knew that even the most peaceful-seeming places could be a hotbed for the forces of darkness.

"So," Dean said as he parked the car on the street and shut it off. "What brings us to suburbia?"

"Kids have been disappearing in the area," Sam explained. "Locals think there's a child abductor. But...my money is on the Sack Man."

Dean nodded his head in understanding. "Good ol' Sack Man," he said as he exited the car. "All the missing kids on the naughty list?"

"They all have a history of bad behavior," Sam confirmed. "Sneaking out, detention, back-talking."

"So...me as a kid," Dean said with a boyish smirk.

"Are you kidding? That's still you."

Dean shrugged his shoulders and nodded. "Yeah, that checks out." He walked around the car and popped the trunk to reveal the brothers' plethora of weaponry. "Well, when we get the kids out of the sack they have a bright future ahead of themselves."

Sam shook his head. "Yeah, they get to grow up and be just like you. And I thought demons were scary."

Before Dean could retort, blue and red lights flashed from behind them. Hastily slamming the trunk, they quickly spun around together hair as the patrol car was parking behind them.

"You guys having some car trouble?" The officer asked as he emerged from his car and sauntered over to them. When he got close, the brothers could see the suspicious expression on his face.

"We were just taking a break, Officer," Dean explained. "Stretching the legs a little."

The officer looked both of them up and down. "License and registration, please?"

"Sure thing," Dean said in a smooth voice.

The officer stared at their licenses for several minutes. "You boys just hold tight right here," he said before going back to his car to run their licenses. While he did so, Sam noticed a figure in the cop's backseat.

"Dean, he's got..."

"A kid in the backseat," Dean said. "Yeah, I noticed." The officer walked back up to them and Dean pointed nonchalantly at his patrol car. "Criminals are getting younger all the time."
