Annabeth and Percy sat on the top of a sand dune, watching Abby and Leo Valdez play in the sand below.

"Looks like they're having a blast," Percy smiled.

"Yeah," Annabeth nodded, "It's nice to see her fitting in so well, especially since most campers are older."

"I wonder what she meant by us feeling like a family in her dreams," Percy fixed his gaze on Annabeth, who looked down as if Percy said something to hurt her feelings.

"What's wrong?" Percy squeezed Annabeth's hand.

"Perc, we've been through so much together and believe me, I love the little family we have with the seven but their's something I need to tell you,"

Percy furrowed his brows, a sense of unease in the air, "What is it?"

"I can't have kids Percy, ever," Annabeth dropped Percy hand and covered her face with it.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" He asked softly.

"I didn't want to feel like you had to choose between our life and something we can never have, I don't want to burden you,"

Percy cupped her face in his hands and said gently, "Annie you are not a burden. Our life together is everything to me, kids or no kids I love you the same,"

"But what if you want a family? we're 25 already,"

"Family means so much more than biological kids,"

"I am so grateful to have you seaweed brain," Annabeth whispered.

"And I'm grateful for you, we can get through anything together,"

At that moment Abby came running up the hill, laughing like a maniac, with a drenched and sand covered Leo.

"What happened?" Percy laughed and Abby ducked behind him.

"That devil spawn pushed me in the water then tripped me," Leo laughed also.

"Good one," Annabeth joked.

Leo and Abby went back to the water and Percy and Annabeth watched quietly until diner.
