UPLOADS EVERY MONDAY
I woke up Saturday morning and walked downstairs to see my mom actually home?
"hey mom, what are you doing home?" I ask confused siting on a barstool at the kitchen island.
"well Elaine, I saw a casting call for a new tv show! and I thought that you should, well I don't know, audition??" she tells me
"I don't know mom" I tell her taking a bite out of the waffle that she had sat in front of me.
"oh come on!! It'll be fun, I mean at least audition? And I'm sure if you decide along the road that it is too much for you, then I'm sure that they will understand and you can quit!" she says giving me a side hug and then kisses my forehead.
"sure, I guess I mean why not? And let's be real, what is the worst that can happen!" I say just being like yolo, like if I get a part I get it, if not it's not as if I'm losing anything.
"perfect! so um it's in like 3 hours s-" she says and I cut her off.
"THREE HOURS?! MOM!" I shout worried because I was thinking it would be next week or something, "YOU COULD'VE SAID SOMETHING SOONER?!"
"I would've told you sooner, but I literally just saw it!" She says laughing, "go get ready like now" continuing to laugh and rushes me up stairs.
I take a quick shower, blow dry my hair, do a light blow out, and then put on some light makeup. I have no idea what to do or what to wear, I mean I'm positive that everyone else at the audition would know how to do everything.
So using my resources I go to tik tok and look up tips for today. I decided to wear a pair of black jeans, with no holes because that's what they recommended? I decided to pair it with pink high top converse and a white long sleeve shirt.

I put on some jewellery (whatever you like better gold or silver), brush my teeth, put on some perfume, grab my phone and head downstairs.
Once I get downstairs I see my comfort water bottle already filled up, so I grab it and hop in the car, assuming that my mom is in there because I don't hear her in the house.
As I'm getting into the passengers seat, I see my mom texting someone...
"who are you texting?" I ask curiously.
"You're agent" she replies in a duh tone, but like in that sweet mom way!
"what do you mean agent? I have one of those?!" I ask like confused but excited way too?
"yeah I got you one right after I saw the audition, they can help with all of the media type of stuff" she tells me (idk what they do so um yeah!).
"okay if you say so!" I tell her and get on my phone.
"oh hey on the way read the lines of the audition. and before you say that you don't have them I just-" I get a ding on my phone, "sent them to you!"
I thank her and then read the lines on my phone. Really just trying to get a feel of the character, who is someone's sister? I'm not even sure what I'm auditioning for, but it's a kids show for Netflix. (everyone is younger in this story so when Elaine and Walker like start dating they are older btw!!)
After about a 30 minute drive we finally reach our destination. I'm so nervous because I see a bunch of people waiting outside of the doors to even get into the audition.
Thankfully it's not cold but not warm. It's like warm enough to not sweat but not cold enjoy to need a jacket. So the weather is very nice overall, but my anxiety is not doing good.
You literally have nothing to lose, I tell myself, you are doing this for fun girl just breathe, I breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth.
We stood in line for like thirty minutes when we finally got inside. (Idk how a casting call works for bear with me yall!). I go up to the person sitting at the desk and get a name tag and then a number.
My mom sadly couldn't come in with me because there too many people, but everyone that I'm talking are all so sweet! They are telling me that they've done auditions before and what to expect when I go back, so I guess it's helping a little. However I'm really nervous, I'm zoned out going over the lines in my head when-
"Elaine Carter!?" A women in a yellow jump suit says, I stand up with a smile and confidently walk over to her.
"hi I'm Elaine! how are you?" I ask her just trying to make conversation because I'm literally about to cry from how nervous I ammmmm.
"hi I'm very good, how are you? are you excited?" She asks, she's super sweet.
"that's good! I'm excited but really nervous!" I tell her being honest.
"well it'll be great, I'll be in there with you, so at least you have a familiar face in there!" she says and then opens the door to allow me to walk in.
There were at least ten people in the room. There were three girls around my age and then a few adults with papers.
