Hands to Hold

Serena felt lost and despair as she stared in wide eye horror at the sight of her darling daughter, who has just return, being hold with a dagger to her delicate throat.

Falling to her knees in anguish, she felt the will to fight dissolve and she lowered her head submitting to defeat.

Brokenness descended upon her like rain and tears of pain began to stream down her face. Time seem to tick ever so slowly pass each second declaring Arlene's fate.

"Loki, please don't do this," her broken plea whispered breaking the silence and she lifted her head, "I love you and I know this is not you. Are you willing to destroy life that you and I have created together?"

Lowering her head once more she wept in anguish and felt her heart slowly break into tiny pieces. She was giving up on hope and on life as she allowed the world to become dull and lifeless.

Suddenly a bright light exploded into the room causing the dark lord to releases his hold on Arlene and the girl ran to her mother's side.

Blinking in confusion, Serena glanced upwards and saw a woman in a glowing white dress with beautiful blonde hair standing in between Loki and Serena.

"My prince, you have seem to forgotten your path," the angel spoke in a motherly tone.

Loki stared at Caroline and all the color drained from his face for the maid looked like the splitting image of his mother, Frigga who had died by the king of the dark elves.

His mouth opened and closes like a fish gasping for breath but no sound was able to proceed from his mouth. The silver tongue of his ha turned to lead and he was utterly speechless.

"I told you I was here to lead you to redemption," the angel explained, "it is not too late for you. I am giving you a second chance to life." Then the blonde began to sing the same song she had sang to him when he was in her arms.

Unexpectedly tears broke through their barriers and spilled down his face. 'What have I done?' The dagger in his hand fell to the floor with a soft clanking sound that echoed in the chamber.

Loki fell to his knees and wept in horror feeling the conviction of all the wrong and wickedness that he done.

He stiffened when he felt Caroline's smoothing touch on his head. Such warmth began to invade his cold soul and reawaken the newfound love he had allowed to die the feeling spread through his body and break down the walls of ice around his beating heart.

He gasped when he felt something like goodness reclaim its position as his clone was united with him once again. Loki lifted his head and saw that Caroline had vanished and Serena was staring at him with intense love flowing in her beautiful green orbs.

"Oh my love," he whispered as his eyes went back to the emerald green color, "forgive me. Please forgive me." Covering his face in his hands, Loki wept which allowed healing to encase his broken spirit.

Serena also wept but it was joyful crying and gently pulled away her husband's hands for his face and helped him to his feet. She smiled and hugged him tightly. "Yes, dear," she whispered into his chest, "I do forgive you."

Her broken heart was mended and she giggled when she felt Arlene's little arms wrap around her waist. The spirit inside her leapt and sang loudly when Loki captured her lips with his own. She saw in the corner of her eye that his left arm wrapped itself around Arlene and brought their daughter closer to him.

It was definitely a happy reunion full of tears and kisses. Loki released each girl and allowed them to return to their families after apologizing to them.

The young ladies were extremely overjoyed and forgave him. Though Darcy said nothing but quietly left and Loki knew that his mark on her was permitted.

Loki, Serena and Arlene walked into a portal that led them back to the Tower where the Avengers were eagerly waiting and welcomed them back with open arms.

Steve too had forgiven Loki and the two became best of friends. Tony declared to throw a huge party for the lost ones has returned home to where they belong. And they all lived happily ever after.
