It was the opening night of Clue: On Stage, the show was going smoothly and the 'door scene' was wrapping up. The lights went dim, and then a spotlight was shown on the character of the Motorist. He was nervously talking with someone on a phone, a hand came from off stage- holding a wrench- the Motorist was struck by the wrench and fell over dead onto a couch. This, of course, was a stage death and the person playing him was completely unharmed. The lights, again, went dim. In the next scene Colonel Mustard and Ms. Scarlet found the "dead" body of the Motorist. Those two then rushed out to the main hall and told the rest of the characters of another dead body in the house. At the same time, something went wrong backstage. A crew member lost their grip on the rope connected to a chandelier that was supposed to be lowered slowly in, in the next scene. This caused the chandelier to fall with all its weight and inertia onto Wadsworth, played by Elliot. Everyone froze. A few stagehands ran in to assess the damage done by the chandelier, minimal damage to the chandelier and stage, fatal damage to the teen underneath it- chaos erupted as everyone realized what exactly just happened. Some people ran for the exits, one person opened their phone to call 911. The time on their phone read 7:45 PM.
