Keres threw her bag in the back of the truck followed by her camping gear. Not looking back she got in the truck, her snacks in the passenger seat and the key in the ignition.
She checked the map once more before turning the truck on and blaring her tunes backing out away from her home of a cage, heading out to the new hunting spot. The day was slowly getting dark but lucky for her she speeds a bit.
The wind carring the smell of fresh balsam making the air smell fresh and relaxing, she loved that about her trips freeesh aaaair! She could wait to go for a run and to let her wolf out! She was excited to be free and the fact she will bring home the biggest game she can find for the festival happening in a week.
Almost three hours in she finally pulled into the little area. It was a small parking lot but looking around you could tell it was a small head trail leading into the woods. She grabbed her things and headed into the woods with a big smile on her face.
It felt like hours but she didn't mind, the view was beautiful. Tall pine trees stretching up towards the sky, the wind creating music only nature knows. Fall was soon coming to an end so the few trees that held color was soon saying a bitter sweet goodbye as the leaves danced so gracefully to the ground.
The wonderful crispy sound of leafs under her feet with every step she took was like music to her ears. Singing a small tune she felt free out in the wilderness. Finally she came up upon a little trail that takes her up the mountain a ways to a little camping ground.
No one really comes out here from what she gathered the few times she scoped the place out in her wolf form, no scent of humans stayed for very long. Inhaling the earthy damp air she felt at peace once more, you can't get this type of smell anywhere else.
Setting up camp was easy, she found a nice spot kinda tucked away so if people did pass by they wouldn't really be able to see her much due to the small hill at the entrance. "Alright let's get going!" Keres took her hoodie off and placed it in her tent before she ran off letting her wolf out.
Back home the others were getting things ready for the festival. "Corbyn I need you and Inola to go into town for supplies we might need this winter. It might get bad this year." Bobby handed them a list of things while his nose was planted in another pack of papers.
"Got it." Corbyn and Inola left the pack house leaving the others to wait for their orders. "Vanya, you and Antheia will be part of the welcome committee since this year it will be held in our fields so everyone has room to move around." They nodded and left to meet up with the others that were placed on the welcome committee.
"Beta Jun-young you and I will gather the warriors for security, we don't know what will play out, we just don't need another fight." It was only December 19th when flurries started to appear, the festival is supposed to happen on the 21st, the first day of winter.
Huge tents were placed all around to help keep in heat for the humans that like to come and see the festivities that happen and to shop around. Beautiful colors of blues, purples and silver decorated all over the trees and stalls, even the tents were decorated.
Vendors that were going to sell food items or handmade items were excited this year as always, it's still hard for some humans to understand them and wolfs to understand them but the festivals seems to be the only time of peace.
- Keres's POV -
The way my paws hit the dirt underneath me, the way the breeze brushes my fur I feel like I'm at my peak of serenity. The hunt was going great! I got fourteen deers and I was close to getting another till another wolf beat me to it. His first was Grey like smoke but hints of blue could be seen in his fur.
