"It's your light," the system replied, "we identify suitable souls by looking out for lights. For us, we only see light in souls, whether alive or dead. But we can only tune in to souls within specific range of brightness.
"And yes, we can only contact bright souls that just died."
Su Qing replied, "So I have a bright enough light huh?"
"System," Su Qing asked, "Why did you sound like you have emotions and sometimes you talk like a robot?"
"We have AI embedded in us," the system replied, "Replies are retrieved from our database of answers.
"Some replies are entered without emotions while some are entered with emotions. You might get a chance to meet the system creators one day and ask them directly."
Su Qing asked, "Is it ok for me to request that you speak and reply normally and not use the robot tone?"
"Of course," the system replied, "this can be set the moment you agree to become a Destiny maker. You can decide if you prefer a sexy male voice, a cute female voice or even a young voice like your baby brother!"
"Erm, that's enough!"
Su Qing paused for a moment and asked another question.
"My final question is, is there a trade-off for being a Destiny maker? Do I need to give up anything?"
"No," the system replied firmly. "You need not give up anything. It's simply a choice between a Destiny maker or you reject my offer and go back to the reincarnation cycle. That's all."
"Alright," said Su Qing. "I'll take up your offer."
Deep down, Su Qing knew that she had wanted a different life, at the very least, a life different from hers.
"And I prefer a young unisex voice, thank you."
"Requested accepted," the system immediately replied in a young unisex voice.
"About karma points," asked Su Qing, "what are they used for? How do I accumulate them?"
"Relax," replied the system, "I'll explain them later."
"Destiny Maker Contract now in force... System 564,777 is now contracted to Su Qing. Unless both parties voluntarily want to cease the contract, as well as any unforeseen circumstances that both parties had no other choice that the contract had to be ceased, it shall remain in force. System 564,777 will see Su Qing as its valued partner and Su Qing may address System 564,777 as 777 or even allocate a nickname.
"Please advise how 777 may address you, valued partner? Or do you want to change how you want to address 777?"
System 777 announced in her head.
"There's no need to change that," replied Su Qing. "Just address me as Qingqing will do. Pleasure to have you as my partner, 777."
"It's my pleasure too," replied 777.
"Your Destiny Maker ID and attributes are ready. Do you want to see it now?"
"Yes, please," replied Su Qing.

"All points and attributes can be traded away or sold for mission points, attributes and faith points. The exception is karma points, it cannot be exchanged, sold or traded away."
"Also," 777 added, "I need to be recharged over time and you will need mission points to charge me. So only call for me when you really need me."
"Got it." Su Qing nodded her head.
"You now own a tiny space which is the basic allocation for newcomers," declared 777.
"Nice," Su Qing remarked.
777 said, "I shall now send you to your private space."
Teleportation enabled... Teleporting...
A bright light appeared around her, forcing her to close her eyes.
When Su Qing opened her eyes, she found herself in a white space with nothing, yes, nothing, not even a window.
"777," Su Qing asked, "Why is there nothing in this room? It's just a space like a cube and it's all white."
"Yes, Qingqing," replied 777, "in case you've forgotten, you're now in spirit form, you don't need to eat, drink or sleep. If you haven't noticed, you have been floating around and not walking around."
"Oh right," replied Su Qing who realized her current state.
"I'm already... dead. But I thought it would be nice to have a bed or a sofa in this space, is that available?"
"Of course," assured 777, "here's your newcomer user manual, do read up before you start going on missions. Call me when you are ready. 777 shall hibernate now."
With that, a light screen appeared before Su Qing. It showed the contents page of the newcomer user guide. Su Qing was intrigued by the contents.
