its been only 6 days since christmas,meaning it was new year's eve!
Of course Winnie and Augustine were going to spend it together,there was nothing that they'd do alone or without the other one,they were like milk and cereal,inseparable.
The two boys organised to go alone together on a hill where fireworks could be seen at the new year's,it wasn't even so far from where they lived actually.

9PM.
Winnie and Augustine are still at Augustine's house,there are Winnie's parents,Augustine's,and of course Winnie and Augustine(and Augustine's kitty too)
They had decided that they would start going around 11:30-11-45PM.
They had spend the remaining time with their parents and had fun,they played board games,games in general and also karaoke,overall it was really fun.

11:35PM.
Winnie and Augustine are already starting to go on the hill,it took them only 10 minutes,meaning it was now 11:45PM.
The hill was perfect.
Nobody was there.
The view was perfect and amazing.
It was breezy,but in a good way.
They could easily see the fireworks from there.
They both sat down and started to talk together.
Augustine was really happy to be there.

he loved every moment he shared with Winnie.
He loved every second spent with him.

he loved Winnie,not only the moments they spend together.

11:58PM.
The new year's was getting closer and closer.
Winnie looked rather nervous,and tried hiding it,but Augustine did not ask about it,fearing to bother him or somehow change negatively his mood.
Silence fell upon them,until Winnie spoke:

Winnie:"hey,Auggie,can i ask something i've wanted to know for a while,im curious!!" he said,he had that ecstatic tone like he always did.
Augustine turned to him.
Augustine:"of course!go on,what's on your mind?"
Winnie:"have you ever liked boys in..that way?yk not as friendship" he said,trying to act indifferent,hoping that Augustine wouldn't get extremely suspicious.
Augustine:"well you're my childhood best friend,i can't lie to you,yes,i did and still do,why?" he asks curiously
Winnie:"oh no don't worry i was just curious!!after all we're best friends,right?i was just curious!" he smiled and wink,which caused Augustine to let out a soft chuckle

god.
that smile was adorable.
that just made Winnie fall in love with him more.

11:59PM.
The countdown for the new year's was about to start,Augustine was looking at the sky,awaiting the fireworks and the countdown,Winnie was looking at Augustine,until the countdown started,it could be heard from down the hill,Winnie grabbed Augustine's hands,which caused the boy to turn to him.

Winnie was starting to regret what he said and wanted to take it back.

The fireworks had started,but Winnie couldn't look at them.

Augustine had already pressed his lips against his.

Winnie's eyes were wide,as if he just discovered love,for the first time ever.
Both of them started wrapping their arms around the other one,slowly closing their eyes.
The fireworks noises in the background made the kiss even more magical.
This was the best thing that could happen to both of them.
But what about the weight that Augustine felt on his chest?
The more they kissed,the more he could feel it fade.
He finally felt free,as if that weight was now completely gone.
They kissed for so long that the fireworks even stopped,but eventually they pulled away,smiling like idiots as their forehead were pressed into eachother.

Augustine:"i love you too Winnie,i swear i couldn't be happier." he said,tears started forming into eachother's eyes.
Winnie:"does..that mean that we're dating?as in...officially boyfriends...?"
Augustine:"Yes Winnie,it means exactly that." he said,they both started laughing and stopped,looked at eachother with love in their eyes and then kissed again.
