An old, turquoise-coloured Ford Anglia floated in mid-air. Ron leaned out the back window. His brother Fred sat in the driver's seat. Fred's twin George was in the passenger seat.

Harry sighed when he saw the twins. They were always the life of the party. But now, without Fred... George was empty.

"Fred? George? What're you doing here?" Harry asked.

"Rescuing you, of course. Where's your trunk?" Ron answered.

There was a close-up on Harry's trunk.

Stuffed with clothes, spell books. The trunk closed, snapped shut. Harry dragged the trunk to the window sill; watched Ron tie off a fierce knot on the bars of Harry's window. "Stand back." Ron told him. Harry stepped back, Ron turned and nodded to Fred.

The scene changed to show Fred's foot, stepping on the accelerator.

The Ford Anglia flew up into the air, the rope snapped tight and the bars are torn from the window. Bricks and bars rained down onto the lawn below, a mangled mess.

The scene transitioned to Uncle Vernon's bedroom. He was awake.

"He's awake!" Barty screamed.

***

Harry pushed the trunk over the sill into the Anglia's boot, then scrambles through the window himself, when... "Hedwig!" Harry yelled when he heard her. Harry clambers backed, grabbed Hedwig's cage, swings it onto the ledge, when... the bedroom door crashes opened.

"Petunia! He's getting away!" Uncle Vernon yelled to his wife.

"Jump!" Everyone yelled.

As Harry leaped for the windowsill, Uncle Vernon charged forward and snatched his ankle. Harry tumbled into the darkness, one hand gripped Hedwig's cage, the other reached out and... caught Ron's at the last possible second.

Uncle Vernon put both hands to Harry's ankle and pulled harder. Ron braced himself and pulled back. Harry stretched high over the lawn, directly above the mangled steel bars. The camera closed up on Harry's hand slipping from Ron's fingers. The camera, then moved to show inside Hedwig's cage. She pecked feverishly at the lock. The camera moved away to show Ron's panicked face. "Hold on, Harry!" Ron warned him.

"Get off him!" James demanded.

"Oh no, boy! You and that bloody pigeon aren't going anywhere!" Uncle Vernon said, holding on to Harry, tightly.

There was another close-up on Harry's hand slipping from Ron's. The scene showed the inside of the cage, Hedwig pecked harder and he cage opened.

"Yes Hedwig! Hold on dad!" Lily Luna yelled at the screen. Harry looked at her in awe. His daughter. He had a beautiful daughter that he named after his mother.

Hedwig swooped into the sky, wheeled back and hammered her beak into Uncle Vernon's hand. He roared, stumbled back and... Ron and George pulled Harry into the air. "Put your foot down, Fred!" Ron yelled. Like a rocket, the Anglia sailed into the stars. Harry glanced back, and saw Aunt Petunia and Dudley join Uncle Vernon at the window. As Hedwig raced up, soaring just beyond the car window, Ron turned to Harry. "By the way, Harry. Happy Birthday." He smiled.

***

The scene dissolved to show the Anglia drop through a pink sky, a haphazard mess of a house, built around a towering central chimney, appeared below.
