"Gleaming
Twinkling
Eyes like sinking ships
On waters so inviting
I almost jump in;"Florence groaned.
Why?
Heather had woken the the two of them up early. Early by Flo's standard anyway. 7 a.m.. To go skiing.
Flo had walked down the stairs like a zombie, slumping down into the barstool next to Walker. The stools were lined up along a marble bench, that stood in between them and the kitchen where Heather stood making coffee.
Leena and Connor were sitting on the couch Flo could see through the doorframe. The couch was situated against a wooden wall covered in old paintings of castles and snowy hills. It faced a large fire place that, alas, was fake, she assumed it was probably to do with the fact that the owners didn't want anyone to accidentally burn the house down.
A large flat screen T.V. sat above the fake fireplace, it was a contrast between olden and modern but Flo loved it. She was in love with this house. From wht she could hear the T.V was running playing the animated version of the grinch. It was amazing.
But Flo really was to tired to appreciate it.
Heather handed her a cup of coffee, probably hoping to get the girl up and going if someone was going to teach her how to ski today, Heather (and Walker) didn't want a grumpy Florence McKay.
As she sipped her coffee, she noticed Pete, Ava abd James by the car packing in the ski equiptment they had brought with them. She knew the car was large but Flo wondered how on earth they were going to fit everything qnd everyone into it.
She had gotten changed into her snow clothes before she had come down leaving a brown puffer on the coat rack to put on when they left the house.
She was nervous. She had never skied before. Walker had agreed to teach her, even after Pete offered. He had said that he need a refresher aswell and they could do it together. That didn't aspire much confidence into Flo. But he had told her he would be there the entire time to hold her hand and catch her when she fell and then proceeded to try and tell her the basics of skiing.
The butterflies were dancing around her stomach again. He was going to hold her hand.
That was probably not the thing she should of taken out of Walker's impromptu How to Ski class. But it what was taken and now occupied her mind as she was sucked into his eyes.
Soon enough, her staring session was finished.
"Time to go, Florrie."
"Yup."
