Ship: shin Soukoku
Genre: angst (bad ending)
Warnings: character death, mentions of blood
—————————-It was a stormy and windy night. The only things lighting the almost empty scenery were the faded street lights.
Inside the quiet building of the Armed Detective Agency layed a sick and vulnerable Akutagawa. The reason was simple. Akutagawa's lung disease has gotten worse over the course of the past few weeks so the agency and the port mafia came to an agreement. The detectives, specifically the doctor, would take care of the not so rabid dog anymore.
For some members, mainly Kunikda and Tanizaki, it was odd and alarming having mafiosos of all ranks enter the agency in order to visit the man without warning. Of course they wouldn't interfere.
Today Atsushi stayed inside late because of some extra work and, even though he hates to admit it, he despises storms to the core. The sound of loud thunder striking somewhat resembled the yelling of the headmaster in his ears. Also, his tiger senses increased sounds by a lot which made it unbearable for him.
Atsushi was now alone in the office besides a certain quiet person that was currently in the infirmary. The only sound that could be heard was the weretiger's pencil on the paper and occasional coughs.
The white haired man shivered when thunder struck while the other man coughed violently. Despite the constant ringing in his ears, Atsushi could make out the intense coughing coming from Yosano's clinic, as she liked to call it. He had his doubts but eventually gave in and decided to check on his so called "enemy".
He walked towards the infirmary's door with a huge lump in his throat he didn't know was forming.
"Akutagawa?... Are you alright?" He peeked through the door only to be met with the frail figure of his enemy.
"Im-" was the only thing the man could say before he broke into immense coughing.
Without thinking, Atsushi rushed to his side and unaware of what to do he rubbed the other's back. Soon complete silence filled the room as both men starred in horror at the black haired guy's palm which was now filled with blood.
"I didn't know it was this bad..." Atsushi thought out loud, earning a glare from Akutgawa. "Do you want me to call Yosano? Her apartment isn't that far away she can be here shortl-"
"No" Akutagawa answered with a stern but raspy voice. He knew he didn't have much time left so in his last moments he wanted to be with someone he trusted rather than being rushed to a hospital.
"Can you grab me a piece of paper and a pencil?" The black haired man said, feeling weaker now that he admitted he can't get to his feet to grab it on his own.
"Sure..." Atsushi walked towards Yosano's desk and searched through the drawers until he finally found them.
"Here you go" he said as he handed the desired things to the man.
After a few minutes of silence he gathered up the courage to ask. "What are you writing?"
"A note to Dazai-san and Gin." He said not looking up from the piece of paper in his hands.
"Huh?" the other hummed in question.
"In case I die you idiot." Akutagawa said with a more aggressive tone.
Atsushi was left there stunned. He attempted to find the right words but instead he spat out,"Don't think so negatively! You're not gonna die!"
Akutagawa sighed and left the notes aside. "Why are you still here?" He asked with a straight face
