I have an upcoming get-together to attend. I have checked that I have my keys and phone with me, which are the only things I need. The boss has promised to pay for all the drinks, so I don't need to carry my wallet with me.

I have also made sure that I look presentable. My hair is not messy, and there is no noticeable fur sticking up. I feel ready to go.

While I was getting ready, I received a message on my phone. I took out my phone and checked the message, squinting my eyes at the glowing screen.

Fenneko: I still can't believe you're getting the same job as me, in the same department!

I chuckle to myself, starting to type out my response. Fenneko and I met in a cafe, she told me about her life and all the things bothering her and I eagerly listened.

Actually, that's a lie.

I was trying out a dating app at that time called Zinder. And there I matched with Fenneko, we talked for a while.

Although for some reason I didn't really feel connected to her. We both decided it was better to stay as friends and so we did.

Honestly spending the last few years with her has been a blast!

Apart from the fact that she was taunting me about getting rejected...

Fenneko : see ya, try not to get wasted too soon

I chuckle at my phone, before slipping it back into my pocket. And checking the time.

5:37 pm.

The train is in ten minutes, and it's only a few minutes walk to the train station. And plus it'll be quiet, lucky me!

[TIME SKIP]

God, I'm finally out of that stuffy bus. It was NOT quiet.
Ugh, and now I probably look like a complete mess from that coyote trying to sleep on my cheek and messing up my fur.

Ah, whatever. I'm just gonna try to be formal.

"Right.. my z-ps says it should be just around the corner." I look around for any blaring signs reading 'private parties'

"Aha." I spot the bright red sign, quickly walking pushing past the crowd of animals, seeing Fenneko dressed in not-so-formal wear.

"Hey [Y/N], I haven't seen you in so long!" Fenneko says with a laugh. She's standing beside a red panda girl who looks cheerful.

"What's up?" I give Fenneko a high five and grin.

"Retsuko, meet [Y/N]. [Y/N], meet Retsuko. [Y/N] is the new worker in accounting," Fenneko introduces us.

Fenneko has a determined look on her face as Retsuko and I shake hands, which scares me slightly.

"Nice to meet you," I nod to Retsuko, and she giggles in response.

"Yeah, same here," Retsuko says. Suddenly, Fenneko pulls Retsuko away and starts muttering to her.

Oh well, I check my watch. The meet-up should be starting any minute now.
