Don't Do This

Her father's war camp isn't too different from Josh's and, as Bella arrives, she is quickly stopped by a few soldiers. Climbing down from her horse, she tells the soldiers who she is and that she is there to speak with her father. A young soldier takes her horse's reigns from her and tells her where she can find him.

Bella thanks him and moves forward, her steps determined but slow, as she looks around, trying to find where Jensen might be. She knows her father, he would want to keep Jensen close, but out of sight. Looking between the tents she walks past, she has yet to see any sign of him.

Bella sees the tent and for a moment her determination wavers. But when she thinks about Jensen and all that they have yet to see and do together, her determination comes back stronger than before. She walks past the soldiers that guard the tent, both men recognizing her, and walks right on in, interrupting her father as he is giving new orders to his Commander.

Logan looks up at her, but doesn't appear surprised to see her there.

-"What do you want?" - Logan looks back at the map in front of him, the Commander still standing there.

-"We need to talk." - Her voice is steady, even if she is scared she is too late. Logan dismisses the Commander before speaking again.

-"What do you want to talk about? Maybe about why you never returned to your Kingdom as you were ordered to do? Or perhaps about the piss poor information you sent me?" - Bella stares at her father, locking eyes with him. -"I always knew you were worthless. And the fact that you couldn't find the information I wanted just proves it."

-"Are you done?"

-"What do you want?" - There's anger in his eyes when he looks at her, something that in the past would've terrified Bella, but not anymore.

-"I'm here to request the release of Commander Ackles."

-"So, Ackles sends my own daughter to do his dirty work." - Logan laughs, shaking his head. -"Why would I release Ackles' Commander and brother, when he is the perfect leverage to get what I want?"

-"What do you want?"

-"The same thing you should want if you ever loved your sister. I want revenge. I want Ackles to suffer just like she suffered."

-"Don't you dare say I didn't love my sister! I loved her more than you will ever understand. And what happened to Kimberly wasn't his fault. She made her own choices and it were those choices that led to her death." - Bella stands still when her father, in anger, clears the table in front of him in one swift movement.

-"He should've just married her. If he had, she would still be alive."

-"It wasn't Josh's fault that Kimberly couldn't move past his rejection. In time, she could've fallen in love with someone else, but she became obsessed with him. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for encouraging her." - Logan rushes up to her, his hand held high, ready to hit her, but Bella doesn't move or even flinch, something he clearly was expecting. She has had more than enough time to see her father for who he really is. -"You know I'm right."

-"Did Ackles sent you believing that you would be able to convince me because you're my daughter?" - He takes a step away from her.

-"No. Josh didn't want me to come. I'm here out of my own accord."

-"I won't release the Commander. He's a valuable prisoner. Either Ackles gives me what I want or, come morning, the Commander is dead."

-"What? Does Josh know this?"

-"He does." - Logan smirks at her. Bella thinks that this was why Josh didn't want her to come.

-"Father, please. Jensen didn't do anything to you. He is innocent in all of this."

-"One way or another, I will get my revenge. And since I can't have Ackles, I settle with what I have. Maybe once I deal with his Commander, I will find and deal with the pretty, little Princess as well."

-"Please, don't do this, father. I beg you."

-"I can see Ackles and his family were successful in turning you against your own family."

-"They did no such thing. Jensen is my family too."

-"What are you saying?" - Logan says through gritted teeth, his eyes a blaze with anger.

-"Jensen and I... We're married. We got married a few months ago. Father, please..."

-"TRAITOR!!!! Guards."

-"Father, no, please. I love him. Don't do this, I beg you." - Bella hears the soldiers entering the tent and coming to stand behind her.

-"Take her and throw her in the cage next to the Commander. Let them rot together." - Logan then turns to her. -"If I were you, I would say my last goodbyes. Come morning, you will be executed first for treason."

Bella is dragged away from her father and out to the camp, her voice being carried by the wind, still begging and pleading with him.
