I stepped up to that house on the corner of the street. Reaked of alcohol and weed. Music was blasting, and the sweet sound of teenagers having a great time rang through my ears. Door was unlocked, so I went inside.

The host, along with some other kids greeted me and offered some beer.

"No thanks. Is Tyler here yet?" I asked, leaning slightly against the doorway.

"Yeah, hes out back. I think hes actually helping set up the stage for karaoke."

"Aight, cool. Thanks." I said, walking towards the back door and heading out.

Holy shit, theres a ton of people here. Like, the whole senior class. Guess it makes sense since it's a graduation party, right?

I found Tyler right where the guy said he'd be. He was helping set up the microphones, and connecting them to the speakers. I hopped up on the stage and he grinned this big cheeky grin.

"Hey! You showed up Josh!" He said, then reaching his hand out for our signature handshake.

I returned the handshake, which was almost painfully long, but in a good way.

"So, wanna karaoke with me?" Tyler asked, grinning and gesturing a mic towards me.

"Have you HEARD my voice tyler?" I said, chuckling the slightest.

"C'mon dude.. Pllleeeeaaaseeee?" Tyler whined, making somewhat of a pouty face.

"Nope." I replied, being stubborn as usual.

"Fine then, I aint doing it by myself." Tyler said, shrugging slightly before jumping off the stage with me.

Tyler and I walked around for a bit, just watching people have a good time. Like, you know, the usual lesbians making out on the sofa, tons of people grinding on eachother, the druggies all in their little circle of smoke, and then the drunk jocks trying to hit on cheap preppy girls. Pretty much any basic party.

Tylers girlfriend, Jenna joined us so I third wheeled, which was pretty normal by now. Jenna and I get along real well. Tyler always bugs me about when im gonna get a special lady myself, but I guess I just havent had enough time to really hang out with anyone besides Jenna and Tyler I guess.

Soon enough it was karaoke time. For a while, it was basically the jocks up on stage singing a bunch of stupid shit. Then some groups of girls singing way too much Bruno Mars and Taylor Swift. But then there was this one girl, who I actually dont think ive ever had classes with or really talked to. I think her name was Debby? I could be wrong though. She actually had her acoustic guitar with her though. I found that a little odd. Do people just carry their guitars with them? Hmph.. Anyways, back go Debby. She sang an original song which I thought was pretty cool. She had a nice voice. There was just something about Debby that caught my eye I guess, but I was one of the few people who did sit and watch her. Man, her voice seemed so bright. So sweet and delicate. I caught her smiling softly at me a couple times, and of course I smiled back.

When Debby was done, of course Tyler had noticed me watching her, so he invited her to come over and chill with him, Jenna, and I.

"You sounded really good up there by the way." I said, smiling softly at her.

"Oh thanks. You're names Josh right? Josh Dun?" She asked, her eyebrows making a questionable gesture.

"The one and only." I replied, making this stupid dorky smile.

Her laugh was cute. At least she found me amusing.

We chatted pretty much all night. I offered her a ride home, being the gentleman I was raised to be. When I parked up to her house, I helped her get her guitar case out of her trunk, and handed it to her carefully.

"Thanks Josh. I had a nice time tonight.. Glad we met." She said, smiling and giving me a light hug.

I hugged her back and smiled as well. "Yeah, me too. If you want we can like.. Hang out sometime."

"Sure, that sounds pretty fun. Well, I hope you have a nice night.. Thanks for the ride again." She said, before turning back to her house and walking up her steps.

"No prob." I said, watching her walk inside and making sure she got in safely. When she got in, I got back in my car and drove home.

There was really something about her I liked. Can't quite put a finger on what it is.. But I do really like her.. You know.. As a friend. Maybe more. I dunno. I guess i'll just sleep on it for now.
