Do you solemnly swear that you are up to no good? - Harry, Teddy and James

It was September first 2009. Teddy was the most excited he'd ever been, because he's going to Hogwarts. He was walking to the platform with his grandma and his godfather. He saw many other young muggles but also witches and wizards around him, and wondered if they'd be in his house. He wasn't yet sure what he would be, but he thought he'd end up in Hufflepuff. After he thought about that he noticed that they were all there with their mums and dads, and there he was without his. He was broken out of his thoughts by his godfather.

"We're here!" He said. Teddy looked around confused.

"Where's platform 9 3/4?" He asked.

"It's through that wall right there." His grandma said.

"What!?" Teddy asked, unsure if he heard her correctly.

"You knew that you'd go through a wall so no muggles accidentally get to Hogwarts." Harry said, sounding confused at his confusion.

"Yeah, but I assumed there'd be a door in the wall hidden by magic!" Teddy explained.

"Then how would I get stuck here in 92'?" Harry asked the green haired boy, but Teddy knew it was a rhetorical question so he didn't answer. "Come on, I'll run with you." Harry said, and when Teddy nodded they ran into the brick wall, and through it. Teddy looked around and was amazed by how magical this place felt.

"Woah!" He said.

"If you think this is cool, just wait until you get to Hogwarts! Now come with me, we need to get away from the portal so nobody runs into us." Harry said and they walked away to a more secluded place.

"What about grandma? How's she going to find us?" Teddy asked.

"Don't worry, we'll find her. Now I have a secret to give you." He started. "You know that our dads were best friends, right?" Harry asked him, and he nodded. "Well, as the oldest child of the Marauders I was given this invention of theirs." He continued and pulled out a piece of parchment. "It shows everyone at Hogwarts and what they're doing, as well as some secret passageways. As your godfather and friend cousin and as the only other kid of the marauders I'm giving it to you, but I have some conditions if you want it." Harry said. Teddy, who really wanted the invention his dad made nodded. "The conditions are that you don't show this to anyone who you don't 100% trust, and especially not to any teachers. The second condition is that you don't try to sneak of until you're a teenager. The third is that it's passed on to the oldest marauder grandchild, which means James, but I want it to be given to the first grandchild of Remus too, so make him give it back when he finishes Hogwarts." Harry listed.

"Yeah, okay. I can do that! How do I use it?" Teddy asked him.

"Well, I think you should figure that out yourself. I think the map will sense that you're Moony's kid, so it's probably going to help you. Like it helped George and Fred Weasley when it sensed they were up to no good. But once you're done your mischief is managed." Harry said. Teddy felt like this was a bit to cryptic but hey, that's okay.

"Okay. So dad, his friends, you, George and Fred have had this before?" Teddy asked.

"Yes." Harry answered and as they started trying to find Andromeda. "Hey Teddy?" He asked while they were walking.

"Yeah?"

"Do you solemnly swear that you are up to no good? He asked.

"Umm, sure?" Teddy said, but it sounded more like a question. After he said this Harry put the map in his trunk and a few seconds later they heard a voice.

"There you two are! I've been looking for you!" Andromeda said.

It was September second 2015, and James had just stated Hogwarts. He was sorted into Gryffindor house yesterday and he was stoked. He was in his first ever class today but it was interrupted.

"Excuse me professor, may I borrow one of your students?" A voice James immediately recognized said.

"Oh yes, by all means. Come in an introduce yourself!" The professor said. In walked a Hufflepuff boy with blue hair.

"Hi, my name is Edward Lupin, I'm Hufflepuff's Head-boy. I'd like to borrow Mr Potter." Teddy said. The whispers started when people heard the names Lupin, James guessed they knew that a previous Hogwarts teacher names Lupin died in the Battle of Hogwarts, but there were only a few people whispering. The whispers became louder when they heard he was head boy, because they wondered how someone could already be in trouble. The whispers stopped for a second before starting even louder when the name Potter was said. James happily stood up and dashed out of the classroom before Teddy even managed to make it out.

"So, what did you want?" James asked the Hufflepuff.

"Well, as your god brother and friend first cousin once removed it is my duty to give you this piece of history invented by my father, your grandfather, your god grandfather and the rat. It was theirs and they left it at school when they graduated, your uncles' George and Fred had found it and used it for a few years before giving it to your father who gave it to me, on the condition that I'd give it to you when I see fit. But it's to be given back in seven years." Teddy said.

"That's so cool! What is it?" James responded.

"This is the Marauders map. It shows everyone, where they are, what they're doing every minute of every day." Teddy explained.

"That's so cool! And it's mine? What about you, don't you want it?" James asked confused.

"I do want it back, to give to my children at some point, but I can't keep it seeing as I'm head boy now. I'd have to turn it in and we wouldn't want that, would we?" Teddy said with a glint in his eyes.

"No we do not!" James said.

"Besides I've memorized it. I just have one question - do you solemnly swear that you're up to no good?" Teddy asked at put the map forward.

"Or my name isn't James Sirius Potter!" James responded and took the map.
