As soon as the duo walked through the doors of the Bottleneck Hotel, Neptune stormed off to somewhere. Olivia had no idea where he was going, seing as she had never been here before.
"What's wrong with him?"
"Jesus Christ Lam. I know you're a cat but is there any way you could NOT sneak up on me?"
"No. And FYI, I don't appreciate you just calling me a cat, I'm a magnificat."
"Okay, sorry. Do you by any chance know where I go? I've never been here before. Also could you maybe get someone to show me around?"
"Well clearly you've not been here before. Anyway, I'm not your slave, even though I am head of housecleaning, so go and find Frederick and he'll show you around. I need to go clean myself."
"Uh ok. But who's Frederick?"
By the time Olivia had finished her sentence, the magnificat had left the room. She walked around the lobby's checkered floor for a while before finally deciding she would go to see who Frederick is. And it was very easy.
"Hello dear, are you lost?"
"AGH!" She screamed, " WHY do people insist on sneaking up on me today?"
"Ah, that's just life in Nephititi. You'll get used to it at some point. Although people will start taking advantage of the fact you aren't yet and will constantly be scaring you. As I said, are you lost?"
"Uh yeah, I'm new here, I'm Neptune's new scholar for Unit 818, and I was just looking for a man called Frederick so I could-"
"Well you're looking right at him!"
"Oh! Hi! Could you please show me around?"
"Of course, that is what Neptune sent me down for. He is quite upset about god knows what but he is currently sulking in his office. Probably on the phone to the Unit Scholar Lady. Now please, follow me."
They walked around the Hotel lobby at first, Frederick simply explaining that there were eight floors, the eighth being the rooftop, and that the basement was strictly out of bounds due to a burst sewage pipe, so sewer water was quite literally, flooding the basement, meaning quite a few toilets were out of bounds as well. He explained that every room number (for instance room 123) coordinated to the floor, (floor one) the corridor on the floor, (floor one corridor two) and the room in the corridor, (floor one, corridor two, room three). Afterwards he explained that floor one was NOT the ground floor, it was the one above, and any rooms on the ground floor (e.g. the spa) would be labelled with G, (e.g. GSPA). If the words were particularly long, it would be abbreviated (e.g. the Oak View Cattery would be GOVC).
"Now your room is room 573, you think you can find that?" Frederick asked.
"Yeh, but how do I find you if I get lost?" Olivia replied.
"Oh, simply find the nearest 'Call Fred' button, and press it. Next thing you know I'll be right by your side."
"Okay, thanks."
She set off towards the lift and pressed the button. Once the lift arrived, she glanced back to where she and the concierge were talking, but Frederick wasn't there.
Ping
She walked slowly into the lift, not sure which button to press to get to her room. After some time of looking, she finally saw it. There it was, gold rimmed with a black base, and fancy golden letters say 'LVL 5'. And it was right in front of her. Literally, eye level. With one press of the button, the doors slid shut, and the lift whizzed up, up , up all the way to the 5th floor. The doors opened, and Oli had to sprint out before the doors slammed shut on her.
"What made Neptune think a lift with sonic doors would be a good idea?" She said to herself.
She crept through the halls, careful to not wake anyone, seeing as time was around 10 hours ahead in Nephititi. She glanced at the walls by the corridors, scanning for corridor seven. As soon as she found it, she turned the corner and counted the doors.
"1...2... aha! Room three! This must be my room!"
The door opened with a click, and inside was the most majestic room Oli had ever seen.
"You like it?"
"OH MY GOD WHO IS IT NOW?! Oh. Sorry Neptune. It's just everyone's been sneaking up on me and-"
"It's fine, it was like that when I first came to Nephititi as well. But anyway, your room will change more as it gets used to you, and will adapt more to your style."
"Soooo about a million flower cushions, cat stuff, fake plants everywhere........ what in the world?"
As soon as she said that, tons of flower cushions appeared, a cat tree spawned in the corner, a bunch of cat posters were up on the walls and fake plants magically emerged out of nowhere.
"See?" Said Neptune.
"Nice! I love it!" Oli exclaimed.
"Great! I'll leave you to unpack and get ready for bed. Breakfast is at half nine in the morning at GDR, otherwise known as the dining room."
"Okay! Goodnight!"
"Goodnight Oli."
Neptune shut the door, and Olivia gafawed at the room around her. It was a squarish sort of room, though slightly rectangular, and a massive double bed was stationed in the corner with a small white shelf beside it. On the bed were blankets, pillows, flower cushions and of course, a fat calico sprawled out amongst the throws. The shelf had a small purple lamp, and a convenient spot for her to place her books. Her wardrobe was a decent sized white cupboard, with mirrored doors, and many hangers and drawers inside. Her desk was a large corner desk with fake plants, another lamp, a laptop and more shelf's to place her books upon. Next to her desk was the door to her en-suite bathroom. The bathroom was a lovely periwinkle colour, and had a free standing bath in the corner. A large standing shower was attached to another corner, with glass panes that had a pale purple tint. The toilet was levitated, making a stylish area for a stool, and a sink was secured to the wall next to it. Pretty much everything was made of either purple or white porcelain or china. Oli strolled back into the main part of her room and spotted her luggage tucked away by her wardrobe.
"Of course. Lamentha's a cat. My stuff is obviously gonna be tucked away. Stupid thing."
She unpacked her stuff, and as soon as Bagel heard the cat treats, he scrambled up from the nest of blankets, and sprinted towards Olivia, who was shaking a bag of dreamies.
"Come on! Come on! Good boy! Awwwww you're such a cute little fat cat aren't you."
She poured a few treats onto the carpeted floor, and the ball of fluff devoured them in a short amount of time, then sat in front of her meowing, begging for more as if she hadn't fed him in days. Oli finished unpacking and arranging things, changed into pyjamas and clambered into her fluffy, cozy bed, and nestled into the warm spread of blankets and throws. It didn't take long for her to doze off (jet lag isn't a thing in Nephititi) not knowing what tomorrow had in store.

Word count: 1234 words (lmao)
A/N: Another decent sized chapter! Would've liked it to be a little longer but didn't know what to write without going into the next chapter and making it like 15,000 words long (unlike SOMEONE I know). I hope you enjoyed!
Thanks for reading!
