Anna (01)

                              Anna Rivera, a single 25-year-old mom found herself in a tough situation. As a nurse, she needed to go to work, but she couldn't afford daycare for her sweet and clingy 5-year-old daughter, Kim. Anna turned to Kimberli "Sweetie..Uhm..No daycare today okay?" Kim nods eating her gummy snacks, tears form in Anna's eyes not being able to provide for her child. Desperate for a solution, Anna turned to her neighbor Albert, he was tall, brown-haired, and obnoxiously loud around 12PM. Despite their different backgrounds, Anna mustered up the courage to ask Albert if he could watch Kimberli, little did she know with a simple knock this would change the entire course of their future..but we're getting ahead of ourselves.

   Her five-year-old daughter, Kimberli, sat at the kitchen table, engrossed in a coloring book. The little girl's blonde hair was pulled back into a messy ponytail, and she wore a bright yellow dress that matched the sunny hue of her big blue eyes. "Mommy, are you sure you have to go?" she asked for the umpteenth time, not wanting to be separated from her mother for even a moment. Anna glanced over her shoulder at her daughter and smiled reassuringly. "Yes, sweetheart. Mommy has to go to work, remember? But don't worry, I'll be back later tonight, just in time for bed!"  Anna runs out the apartment and locks the door then makes her way to her neighbors apartment, Albert was lengthy, strong, and had messy hair. His voice was raspy, it was 6:30 AM. "Hey uhm..." she dragged on desperately trying to remember his name "Albert! yeah uhm Albert, my GREAT PAL! Listen I know i don't know you well but..can you please watch kim for me..just for a few hours while i work..I promise ill pay you when i ca-" he cuts her off and rubs his face "Its fine, free..um yeah free" he says sleepily "Free?" she questions looking up, to be answered with a soft hum. 

           Kimberli comes out with her backpack "Im ready mama!" Albert waved her in as Anna apologizes. "It's no trouble at all, Anna. Honestly, I'm happy to help out, you know I'm always here for you. Now, go on, get to work. We'll have her all tucked in by the time you get back." He gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder before she left. Why did her name coming off his tongue give her butterflies, he was just a neighbor being friendly.
