The first responders involved that day are often given tons of credit for their actions, of which they deserve said credit. But the fact that so many people made it out safely also has to do with the fact that a lot of people came together to help one another.
Everywhere you looked people were taking care of each other. If someone needed EMS people would help. People helped guide others. They helped nourish people. The helped guide each other. You see people coming together and helping each other through crisis and finally seeing just a sense of humanity.
I am no glad that 9/11 happened, but I do believe that something needed to happen to help people come together again, and 9/11 did that. It is important that we come together as people not just in crisis, but also through daily life. I truly hope to see more of this kind of humanity in the future.
