Unexpected Anchor

Chapter Six

We walk through some spooky forest and I almost isolate myself from the others. Holding onto my twin's hand as we walk, but blocking out the conversations. I've been trying to focus on what the source is of this feeling.

Harvey stops us, tightening his grip on my hand to let me know we're stopping. "Brina, what did you say that forest was called?"

"The Forest of Torment." She responds

"I think we're in it," Harvey says

"According to Dorian, the flower of evil, there's only one, grows somewhere around here," Sabrina tells us. I look towards the forest feeling the unease of the trees.

"I can't believe I'm suggesting this. But what if Sabrina and I look on this side of the forest, and Harvey, Theo, and Hallie look on that side?" I hear Roz suggest.

"I'll go alone," I say as I stare into the forest. I hear all of them start to argue, but I pull my hand from Harvey and look at them. "Guys, trust me. I have a feeling we should split like this. I don't know what it is, but I think it needs to happen."

"Okay," Harvey says and I smile at him. Sabrina sighs and then agrees.

"And guys, don't make any loud noises, okay? I have a feeling the ghastly water's worn off and not gonna do much to keep us hidden from demons at this point." We all make our separate ways as Harvey tells me to be careful.

I walk alone as I listen to the trees. The wind whistles as the branches hum to the shared tune. "Hallie" I hear a voice almost whisper

Then a scream that I recognize as Harvey from the other side of the forest. I turn and start to make a run to the scream until I feel a hand wrap around my mouth and flames engulf me pulling me from the forest.

3rd POV

Harvey is staring at the now statue of his and Hallie's big brother, Tommy. Sabrina and the other two rush to him helping Harvey to stand. As he gets up he starts to panic darting his head around the forest. "Hallie." He whispers, "Hallie, something happened to her. She's in trouble!" he begins to shout.

Sabrina and Roz both grab an arm holding him still, Sabrina tries to coax him. "You feel her don't you Harvey?" He looks to her with his eyes wide, then nodding his head. "What do you feel, maybe I can help her."

"She's—-- panicking, scared." He starts then to relax a little, "She's calm all of a sudden. Now almost annoyed." He shakes his head trying to figure out his sister's emotions.

"Do you think Lilith has her? She always hated her." Roz says as she keeps ahold of Harvey.

"I think she might be with Lilith. Maybe she knows we're here." Sabrina says as she looks around the forest searching for some sort of sign.
