Right after they came into Jeon's mansion, Taehyung saw a mid-50's man watching TV, laying on the couch.
Jungkook fakened a cough to grab his dad's attention, which it did.
"Here you are Kook. I just did your packing and turned the TV to rest.", appa Jeon said with a smile.
"Also, see who's here. Nice to meet you, kid. I'm Jeon Junghyung, Jungkook's father."

"Nice to meet you too, appa!
But hey, I'll be a man of 22 soon. What's with you Jeons calling me kid, huh!?
I'm not a kid!", Taehyung grinned but then sulked after.

This time Jungkook interfered, "He's not your ap...
Which soon got cut off with, "Okay, young man. I shan't call you kid, sorry for that. Should I call you son since you called me appa!?
Ani, it's too old fashioned. Let's call each other buddy, what do ya say?!!", appa Jeon winked playing cool.

"As you say, buddy. I'm Kim Taehyung btw. Seems like you'd match my vibes. Unlike Jungkookie hyungieee~~ you ain't strict a$$, buddy.", the youngest of three said.

Jungkook tsked at that. "Do whatever you want, so-called buddies.
I'm going to sleep. Tomorrow at 7am, we need to leave for base camp."

Appa Jeon soon retorted, "Hey, take my buddy with you. I don't want my bro to sleep in the cold hall tonight."

"I don't like anyone on my bed.
Why don't the so-called buddies sleep together?!
Furthermore, you wanted to meet the ki.. the boy before!"

Jungkook's dad's eyes rolled,"Cold brat!"
"Let's go to my room, buddy. I'd love to have some chitchats before napping."
To which Taehyung nodded with a chuckle at his Jungkookie hyung's arrogance. Everything about Jungkook is pretty, even his crudeness, be it his sassyness.

On Appa Jeon's room ;

"Hopefully, my bed is big enough. Would you be okay to lie down with me, buddy?"

"Ofc buddy.
It's just that I'm worried about you.
I've this bad habit of moving too much in sleep. I may be bothersome to you!", Taehyung said scratching the back of his neck.

"It's gwenchana for me, honey.
Besides, if you really bothered me to the core, I can kick you to my Kook's room. He never locks his room while sleeping.

Leave it for now, let's talk awhile, shall we?" Taehyung nodded and Appa Jeon continued, "So, you see, Jungkook, my kid. He didn't agree before, the credit goes to me now. I.. dislike to say this, but I kinda forced him to face the past. The same past that he has been avoiding for the 9th year now."

Appa Jeon sighed, "The thing, Jungkook will tell you himself. Just don't hate him or get disgusted with him afterwards.
You see, these old eyes saw that admiration towards my son in your eyes. Spark, just the same as I held for Jungkook's eomma back then.
I just want you to heal my son. Idk, my guts are saying to trust you.
But yk, you have to have some patience with Jungkook unless he decides to open up himself.

My child, Jungkookie was a soft, sassy and bubbly butterfly back then. With full on youthful spirit and blood of enthusiasm and patriotism.
I want that back. I've prepared him enough to face it now, but still, I'm scared he'll breakdown even more.

And I want you, Kim Taehyung, to hold my Kookie. I want you to repair what you never broke, my son!

Appa Jeon began to join hands as Taehyung stopped him, "What are you doing, appa? Didn't you say, I was your buddy?!
I.. I don't know what Jungkook hyung has to share with me. I don't even know the way he feels, not for me yet, but also about the military.
