It had been 3 months already. A lot had gone down at the base-camp. Taehyung took a two-month break after the injury, but he eventually returned. No way he was giving up that easily.

Now, Jungkook, he went on two more missions after the Espals incident. Not that risky. He was just tasked with ensuring all military activities followed the rules. Usually, legal administrators handle legal matters, provide advice, manage discipline, and oversee military justice.

Moving on to Seojun, the officers couldn't trace where the younger boy had disappeared to. He was nowhere to be found; not even his body.

The whole squad was mourning the loss of their friend, unaware of the truth behind his disappearance. They carried the weight of grief and guilt, believing they couldn't save him. However, Taehyung and Jungkook clearly opposed the thing. They knew their baby brother was fine.
But where was he?

As the days went by, Taehyung and Jungkook gradually grew closer, finding comfort in each other, consoling one another whenever thoughts of Seojun brought tears. They leaned on each other, sharing their pain during those moments.

Jungkook was deeply affected by the incident, carrying the weight of Seojun's loss on his shoulders. Fortunately, Taehyung and the team stood by him, refusing to let him drown in self-blame. They were his guiding lights in the darkness.

It was a relief for Jungkook to finally feel alive again and experience genuine happiness. He couldn't be more thankful for having the bubbly boy, Taehyung by his side and Taehyung's friends<now his friends>, who loved him dearly.

The sorrow lingered, but there were moments when it eased, especially when mischievous Taehyung would playfully flirt with his crush. Jungkook sensed the affection directed towards him, yet he believed it was mere infatuation of the younger.

So, it was 28th of December. Something was definitely approaching😏

The day was hard for all the officers in the base-camp as they served for some government's social outreach program for the past three days, that day was the last.

Jungkook was really tired as he walked straight to his room passing the Chief's room. Taehyung and others were still out on the public shower room. Showering with friends was fun after all.

It wasn't intentional that he overheard the noises coming from the Chief's room. They were actually soft giggles, probably with a friend?

“Why don't you just quit drinking? It's a harm for your age, man!”

“hah.. Never!! This bottle ain't just a drink, it's my peace from this miserable life. I don't have a drinking problem, I have a drinking solution!”

The Chief sounded almost drunk as he added, “They say whiskey gets better with age. Well, I must be a fine bottle by now!” “Want more?” As he offered to his companion.

Jungkook overheard those heated debates. Normally not one to be swayed, but this time, he felt compelled to give it a try.

Seeking to alleviate his stress and fatigue, he attempted to drown his sorrows in a glass. He yearned to immerse himself completely in alcohol that night.

As he turned his way, sneaking out of the base camp heading to a nearby liquor store. He soon arrived and started taking shots till he could pass out.

On the other hand, Taehyung came back to his room from the shower, expecting a sleepy Jungkookie looking oh so cute and endearing. He might have brewed up a plan to steal a forehead kiss. But to his dismay, his hyungie wasn't there.
