Chapter 1: A Fateful Encounter

AUTHOURS NOTE: this is my first time writing a book and publishing it so don't come for me if I mess up okay aha. Now we got that all covered lets start the book also I wont be giving any trigger warnings( if there are any) before chapters so consider this you warning and read at your own risk! this book may include things such as shooting, blood etc as it is a book about the mafia thanks for listening and happy reading!

 finding love is hard in an economy like this especially in a place like Italy, and when your twin brother is always friends with all the boys you like at school. all the hot boys are taken or complete idiots with no brains.  you know what makes it even harder besides all of those reasons? being born into the goddamn mafia. I know what you probably thinking, but Jaime wouldn't that be better because you will have protection from people and no one would mess with you? yeah but there is lots of rules in my gang like on who I can date when I can see them and what not and its all just really annoying. all because of a silly little thing called protection. My fathers the boss or what the others call him a master of the massive gang. he runs it all so I don't get to see him much and for my mother she died in war between my gang and the Sicilian mafia or also known as the Costra nostra . the gangs have been at war ever since I could remember. my mother died when I was only eight so I only really have a few memories of her from around then. I only remember a few things like when she used braid my hair everyday before school or when she used to take me to the park with my brother to distract me from my dad not being around. my brother always kept me company through the times when dad wasn't here. Noah was always good like that always being there when I needed it the most.  the first day of school was just around the corner, me and my friend Ava Conti were so excited because Ava had finally got her first boyfriend ever. She still hadn't told me his name yet or where he was from I just knew he was in most of her classes and that she attended saint Francis where me and Noah go for schooling. Ava says they have been dating for a couple of weeks now and that I know him and are friends with him.

 "Dylan?" I ask. 

"eww no never him he's weird" she reply's. 

"you not even close you should just give up already" Ava said.

 "but I really want to knowwwwww". "you should just tell meeee" I said to ava annoyed that she wouldn't tell me because we are best friends and I would tell her if I had a boyfriend. 

" I have to go now Jaime but I might call you back later, but maybe not if dad gets home because he doesn't like it when call oh also i forgot to ask are you gonna come to Ella's party this afternoon apparently its supposed to be fun" Ava said through the phone.

"yeah I don't know Noah says there's going to be a lot of drinking and drugs and boys and you know what my dads like remember I had to litreally beg him to let me go to you birthday party last year" 

"yeah I remember oh sorry I really got to go now Ella's here she is taking me shopping i will talk to you later okay"

 "okay ill talk to you later then, also don't forget school starts Monday so meet me at the tree out the front of the school okay" I replied.

 "sure you know I wont forget cya now" Ava replied back. 

"cy-" I said staring at a blank screen. she had hung up before I even got to say bye I wonder what had gotten into her she never was the one who would go to party's especially Ella bancocks party. Ella Bancock was the worlds most spoilt little brat. she always got everything she wanted and cryed if she didn't get her way. Ava had recently been hanging out with her even though she knew that I hated her. But maybe this could be my chance at finding love. who knows no one would ever choose me anyways in ugly and definitly not like Ella in fact im almost the complete opposite of her.
