Meeting Rebekah was the best thing that ever happened to me. I'll never forget that day as long as I live. Here's how it all started.
It was a warm Monday morning, my dad was out drinking the night before so he was still asleep on the couch. I had just moved to town that month, and this was my first day of school. I was excited but extremely anxious. "What if they don't like me?" I thought to myself. I made my lunch and headed out the door, school was only about 15 minutes away so it wasn't too bad of a walk. I looked around the world surrounding me, the California breeze was beautiful, the smell of the beach was amazing, and I knew I was gonna like it here.
Right away when I entered the school, I was automatically terrified by the crowd. Everyone was pushing past each other like wild animals, one kid knocked me across the hall, and I felt like I was gonna pass out when all of a sudden some kid pulled me by my jacket through the hallway to a quiet area.
Bro, are you trying to get yourself killed? The main hall is suicide to kids with social anxiety." the guy said to me. "I'm sorry this is my first day and I know absolutely nothing about this school, I moved here from Montana," I replied to him. "I figured, I've never seen you around Blue Rivers, and I know pretty much everyone around here, Anywho, If you want a table at lunch your best bet sitting with me and my friends, Phoebe and Julia," he told me. "Thanks, I'm Levi, Nice to meet you!" I replied.
He smiled and said, "Right back at ya, I'm Michael, welcome to the deepest pits of hell!" He said shaking my hand, then he disappeared into the giant crowd of 12th graders.
At lunch, Michael waved me over to his table, so I went over and introduced myself to Phoebe and Julia. Phoebe had blue eyes and shoulder-length brown hair that she wore in two pigtails, Julia had brown eyes, purple, pink, and black hair, and dressed in a very goth style. Then There was Michael, who had ultra-curly blonde hair, and blue eyes, and dressed like he was a TikTok influencer.
"So where ya from Levi?" Phoebe asked. "Montana," I replied. "Cool, so did you live on like a ranch or something?" Julia asked. "Nope, I lived in the suburbs with my parents, but my mom and dad went through a pretty nasty divorce so my dad thought it would be best if we got a fresh start here in California," I replied. "My dad and mom got divorced when I was like ten, my mom ended up getting remarried to a woman, turns out the reason their marriage failed was because she was a lesbian this whole time," Phoebe said. "Dang that's deep," Julia replied to her.
That's when I saw her, A beautiful blue-eyed girl with extraordinarily long blonde hair, sitting at a table by herself. Something made me do something I never did before, I started to walk over there. "I'm gonna go talk to that girl," I told Michael, who by now probably thought I was mentally disabled.
And there I was, sitting down at her table. "Hi, you looked lonely, can I sit here?" I asked. (prolly sounding creepy asf.)
She looked kinda shocked, and replied, "Well, I usually eat alone..."
"Oh yeah of course! I'll just leave you alone I don't wanna bother yo-" I replied but she stopped me before I could finish saying,
"No! It's okay! I don't mind but umm... you're not one of those guys who's just sitting here and are about to try to convince me to hook up with them are you?" "Oh my God no! No, no, no, no, I'm not like that, I don't know what made me just come over here out of nowhere even, I just, saw you and, wanted to come to say hi." I said to her. She smiled and said, "Well thank you, that's nice of you." "Of course! By the way, I'm Levi Perry." I reached out my hand for her to shake. "I'm Rebecca Waters, nice to meet you," she replied, shaking my hand.
And that was how It all started.
