1. Baddie Mindset

"Girls should learn to set boundaries for themselves, be it social relationships, romance, at work. She might leave a poor first impression but trust me, people will appreciate you as time goes by."

Su Qing could still remember the old lady she met at the hospital while she was still alive as Su Qing. The old lady shared this advice to her own granddaughter, and Su Qing herself. The old lady's granddaughter and Su Qing, as well as four other female patients, were sharing the same ward.

Strange as it was, the old lady took a liking to Su Qing and would often talk to her as well.

"Yes, it may sound unbelievable but playing the villain isn't all bad when it comes to setting boundaries." The old lady smiled at her granddaughter, then to Su Qing.

Su Qing was brought up to never cause trouble for others by her parents. So even when Su Qing was hurting and feeling down, she found it difficult to tell anyone about it, unless someone offered to hear her out.

Now that she became a destiny maker and reliving as Dai Qing from another world, she was no longer the sickly, frail girl whom everyone took pity on.

Looking at the three other young girls who were her schoolmates chatting happily as they prepare to go to class, Su Qing braced herself and decided that she should live like a baddie, just as the kind old lady advised.

Now that she just entered high school and would be living in the dorm with these girls for three years straight, this was the best opportunity to try out the baddie mindset.

"Ahem, Xiaoxuan, I have something to say to you."

The three other girls turned to look at her, including Xiaoxuan.

"Xiaoxuan," said Su Qing. "What's the brand of your phone? I can clearly hear you talking to someone for two nights straight."

"Huh?" Xiaoxuan was taken by surprise by the sudden confrontation.

"Your loud phone has greatly disrupted my sleep," continued Su Qing.

With that, Su Qing carried her schoolbag, took a look at the three girls who were dumbfounded and left the dormitory.

Throughout the confrontation, she looked calm. The two other girls thanked Su Qing in their heart for being honest. They were also affected by Xiaoxuan's late night conversation, although Xiaoxuan had tried to keep her volume as low as possible.

It was their second night at the dormitory and Xiaoxuan did this for two nights straight. They were wondering how long they would need to tolerate this if no one else confronted Xiaoxuan about it.

Xiaoxuan had a mixture of emotions. She was ashamed, embarrassed, angry and peeved at Su Qing. She felt that Su Qing was certainly not a nice girl.

"I only did it twice, what's the big deal?" She murmured to herself.

"Well Xiaoxuan," said one girl, "we haven't been sleeping well either."

"Dai Qing's right," said another girl. "Your phone is really loud."

The two girls looked at each other with a smile, then quickly left the dorm, leaving Xiaoxuan behind.

Su Qing's heart was beating loudly when she confronted Xiaoxuan earlier. Now that she did it, she felt relieved.

"It's not difficult, I just have to get used to it."

She let out a chuckle.

"Get used to being a baddie."

This was her first mission as a destiny maker. She was intrigued by this world as this world was more technologically advanced than her originating world by at least 30 years or so, she estimated.

In this world, it felt as though everyone owned a pair of Mixed Reality headset, or more commonly known as Virtual Reality (VR) Headset.

"Dai Qing!"

Su Qing's two other dorm mates caught up to her.

"You're so brave!" commented one girl, she had long straight hair that she tied up into a relaxed ponytail. Her name was Liu Yimin.

"From today onwards, I, Chen Ruo, shall look up to you!" declared another girl. She had medium length hair and wore a pair of glasses.

Living as Dai Qing unknowingly made Su Qing happier. Dai Qing was pretty. She had a pair of big, beautiful eyes, nicely shaped luscious lips and fair complexion that made others full of envy.

Su Qing knew that this body's appearance greatly attributed to genes as both of her now parents were good looking as well.

However, being beautiful could be a problem as Su Qing witnessed in her old world. Beautiful young girls were often harassed, if not sexually harassed.

She recalled one of her female classmates with particularly well developed bustline at 15 years old. Most male classmates would ogle at her during running lessons as female classmates would be ordered to run at least 1.5 kilometres round the field after male classmates finished their running.

When she realized that what was happening, she totally gave up on running and would call in sick or gave all kinds of excuse so she could skip running.

That was just a tip of the iceberg.

Su Qing heard a lot of stories shared by many, whether in school, or in the hospital. She was told that being stared at was common, but unwanted touches without consent and nasty lewd remarks, not to mention the worst kind where the perpetrator would be caned and jailed, was something that Su Qing did not want.

Of course, she knew that the bottom line was that every girl should know how to protect themselves.

Her mission here was to live a good life for Dai Qing. Hence, she felt that appropriate disguise was a must so she would not get unnecessary attention.
