Sometimes I lay in the bed and cry, restlessly staring at the sky
With no understanding of who, what, when or why.
Walking around so numb, smiling and pretending to have fun
With no hope, no dreams, or motivation for whatever is to come.
Staying busy all the time, to keep the pain off my mind
Floating aimlessly through life just really wasting time.
All out of hope, all out of love to give
I drop to my knees to ask God to give me strength, not mine but his.
He replied to me, my child I will never forsake you
It was me pushing you forward when the world tried to break you.
It was me who kept you when you couldn't see the light,
but it was you who gained the strength to get back up and fight.
Now as I lay restlessly staring at the sky, I no longer question
Who, what, when or why.
I now know that it is me, and it has always been I.
