"Hey, it's Stan, please pick up, I'm sorry," Stan said into the phone.
Stan has been trying to get ahold of Kyle for two days after that night he got drunk. He didn't mean those words he said, well not in the way that Kyle heard it.
"Fuck," Stan yelled, pacing his room. He's tried Kyle's house, Kyle's parents, he's tried everyone. Well not everyone.
"Butters, have you seen Kyle?" Stan asks frantically. "Uh, gee, um," Butters muttered. "Hang up, Butters!" He heard Kenny say in the background. "Uh, sorry Stan," Butters said before he hung up. Stan rolled his eyes and got something other than pajamas on and headed to Kenny's house.
He planned every word he would say and every scenario that would happen in his head. He didn't want to lose his best friend from a dumb mistake, not this one at least.
Stan knocks on the door softly. His eyes were already welling with tears.
"Fuck off, Stan," Kenny yells from the other side of the door.
"No! I need to talk to Kyle," Stan yells back.
He hears a groan and before Kenny could fight him off even more, Kyle opens the door. His eyes were puffy and he was nervously biting his lip. "What do you want," Kyle says weakly, trying not to burst into tears. "I'm sorry, I'm so fucking sorry," Stan says, a tear rolling off his cheek. "Yeah, okay," Kyle rolls his eyes, reaching over to close the door. "No, wait, I don't care if you hate me or don't want to be friends anymore I just have these thoughts in my head and they are making me insane, Kyle," Stan says, keeping his eye contact with Kyle. Kyle looks at Stan in confusion. "What thoughts?" Kyle asks. Stan's eyes widen. "Fuck, I can't tell you, Kyle, I'm sorry I'm just not ready," Stan frowns. "Well, I don't want to see you until you are ready," Kyle says, closing the door. Stan stands there in disbelief, he can't even tell Kyle he likes him. It's unbelievable.
"I will," Stan mumbles to himself, sadly walking back home.
Once Stan arrives home he goes straight to his room and paces. He's been doing this for the two days Kyle and him have not spoken.
"What the fuck do I do," He asks himself. He looks over and checks his phone, he has a text from Craig.
Craig : Hey, dude, wanna go out with me and Tweek tonight?
Stan: I actually need to talk to both of you so yes please.
Craig: Meet us in an hour at Stark's Pond
Stan turns off his phone and paces some more. Eventually it was thirty minutes before he had to meet with Tweek and Craig so he hopped in the shower. As he scrubbed his body he thought about Kyle. How was he doing? Did he get hurt by what Stan said? Was he taking care of himself?
Eventually Stan's skin started to burn from over-scrubbing, his skin was pink. He got out of the shower and dried his body and hair, putting on his cheap cologne and his clothes. He didn't realize the shower took long enough for him to rush out the door to avoid being late.
"Hey, gays," Stan says, somewhat out of breath from speed-walking to the pond. "Hey, loser," Craig says, flipping him off. "EEK, Hi Stan," Tweek says. Stan sits next to Craig since Tweek would most likely hit him from some sort of reflex. "So why did you want to see us?" Craig asked. "Oh, uh, this is hard to say," Stan mumbles, looking down at his boots. "Just spit it out, don't be a pussy!" Craig said, rolling his eyes. "AH, leave Stan alone! This must be important since he isn't saying it right away," Tweek says, playfully punching Craig's arm. "Well, okay," Stan sighs.
"I think I'm.. gay?" Stan says, looking over to the two boys. Craig's face stayed the same and Tweek's was excited. "Yeah, that makes sense," Craig says nonchalantly. "What?" Stan exclaims. "Well, you can't keep a girlfriend and the only girlfriend you had was Wendy and you didn't even like her that much even though she was pretty," Craig shrugs. "True, AH, Craig's got a point," Tweek said. "Well, I guess, but there a bigger problem here," Stan mutters. "You like Kyle?" Craig says bluntly. "How the fuck did you know that?" Stan raises his hands in the air out of surprise. "Well, you look at him like he's a snack, you're constantly with him, and you always talk about him, it's pretty obvious, dude," Craig scoffs. "I do like him but I don't know if I'm ready to talk to him about it, what if he doesn't like me back?" Stan frowns. "Oh," Tweek mutters. "What?" Stan says curiously. "AH, oh, nothing," Tweek weakly smiles. "You know something I don't, what is it?" Stan protests. "EEK, I wish I could tell you, but you'll figure it out, I promise, nothing bad," Tweek says. Craig gives Stan a look of 'don't push him or I'll kill you' so Stan doesn't push.
After a couple hours of discussing what he should do and Stan saying he's not ready yet again, the boys decide to go home.
Stan sort of wishes that he told the couple that he had a fight with Kyle, but that would be for another day, it still hurt to think about.
