Camila's POV

"Have you ever lived with a significant other before?" Dinah asked.

We were on shift right now, working out in the gym catching up because it's been pretty busy this shift.

"No, this will definitely be a first." I said.

"Are you nervous at all?" She wondered.

I put down the dumbbells I was lifting to look at her.

"No, we had a long discussion about it. We also talked to the girls separately and together." I shared.

"I've never lived with someone either, so how does that conversation go? Do you talk about bills and chores?" She asked.

"Yeah, we talked about all of that. Most things we agreed on and other things we had to talk about a little more but we worked through it. Lauren and I work on so many levels, our relationship has been great so far and I know this part will go great as well."

"What about when it comes to your daughters, Lauren is essentially becoming a parent to your daughter and vice-versa. Are you okay with Lauren parenting Lacey and are you comfortable with being a parent to Mikey?" She was asking the real questions.

Dinah was really digging deep with the questions but she wouldn't be a real friend if she didn't ask me the real stuff. It maybe slightly uncomfortable but it was really making me think.

"When I started dating Lauren one constant thing on my mind was if she would be a good parent. It made it a little easier because she has her own child. She is an amazing mother to her daughter and Mikey loves her so much. Then there's the internal debate about her being great with her daughter but would she be the same with mine. There was a possibility of her not treating Lacey the same. Those thoughts did not stay with me long because she is amazing with Lacey." I voiced.

"Sounds like you are comfortable with it?" She gives me a smile.

"I am so in love with Lauren, and I am so happy that my daughter has her. So, to answer your question I am more than okay with it. I love Mikey and I will be whatever that beautiful little girl needs me to be." I said.

"I'm so happy for you Mila, you got yourself a great little family."

I didn't think about that but Lauren, Mikey, Lacey and I have become a family.

I smiled. "I love my little family."

I went to go and pick up the dumbbells to finish my workout and the alarms go off. Dinah and I sprung into action immediately. I get to my turnout gear and before you know it we were on the truck and rolling out.

Every time I get on the truck I pray that everything goes okay and that I come home to my family. I love my job but I understand the reality of it, what I did was dangerous. I work hard at my job and I'm good at my job, I will definitely make it back to my girls.

...

When my shift ended I went to get some moving boxes, Lacey and I are moving in with Lauren and Mikey this weekend.

After picking up the moving supplies I went to my parents house. I wanted to see my daughter but I also needed to tell my parents that I was moving. I haven't had that conversation with them yet. Lauren has met my parents and they both love her but I still didn't know how they would react to the news.

I get to my parents house and go inside and was instantly greeted by my daughter.

"Hello my sweet girl." I picked her up and hugged her tightly.
