PLEASANT SURPRISES

It has been half a year since Spine's first battle, and he grew quite much in combat and body, as he was now with the title of the raider since he could fight better with his big sword and he killed many brutes by himself without his father saving him, so at the end things were looking really good for Spine. So, one restful day after yet another successful battle, everyone was cheering and celebrating bout the gold that'll bring back to their houses soon, on the other hand Spine was training with his sword and as he was returning to his tent, he heard a small group of soldiers talking about killing the kid or throwing him back to the village and how ungrateful it is for him to get all the reward, beating him as they do, sadly that was just they're jealousy and pride hurt from the fact that Spine fought better than them. When he heard this, the kid ran towards his tent to get his armour.
But when he got inside the only thing he could see was 2 tall figures in cloaks. Spine tried to runaway but he was swore from his training so he could do much, and the 2 figures grabbed him and put him down. One of them tore Spine's clothes and the other kept the kid down as he tried to resist but to no avail. A few hours passed and the figures left the kid alone, trembling from the horrors he experienced, as no word could describe the horrors he experienced, and after 2 whole days he could think about it and say to himself that it was all a bad dream. He tried to play it safe but some soldiers noticed his weird behaviour but paid no attention to it, as for his father, Spine was simply avoiding as much contact with him in order not to tell him the situation, so nothing happened. A week later the fellow mercenaries came back to the small village with a huge amount of silver and gold, enough to build walls around the village for protection from the bandits.
Spine was relieved that he could finally rest and try to forget what happened a few days ago, at his comfy bed after a year and a half away. The thing is, that Spine forgot his mother was not too kin to see him alive and instead of a warm hug she slapped him and shout at him for leaving her alone. Father grasped mother's hand and with only his stare she stopped and left to get some apples from the nearby shop. A month had passed, and the village was calm as usual. But inside Spine's house things where different, his mother grew more and more hatred towards him as he stayed there but this time she wasn't hitting him.
For the kid everything looked peaceful including his house, after all he wasn't abused by his mother this time. And one night as everyone was asleep, the sound of a dagger could be heard in the silence followed by the scream of a woman...
