"this place holds a special memory. it reminds me of the time when i first met you", a boy said to his boyfriend with the most appealing smile.

"taehyun."

"i'm listening gyu"

"you need to move on."

"KANG TAEHYUN! WAKE THE FUCK UP MAN!"

taehyun jolted his eyes open. he saw a white ceiling above him and could hear an alarm clock ringing beside his ears. he sat up and saw huening kai, his roomate and bestfriend, leaning on the door. kai was waking him up from the past 10 minutes. taehyun was so deep into the sleep, he couldn't make out what was happening in the real world.

"you'll be late to work broski."

taehyun was still deep into his imagination. it suddenly felt so real. he should have realised he was dreaming since the moment he saw his boyfriend. his boyfriend was dead.

"taehyun?"

"i'll be ready.", taehyun responded with a faint voice.

"fine. i'll be waiting downstairs."

and with this, kai left the room, shutting the door behind him.

taehyun sighed. he had always been dreaming about him, about his boyfriend, about choi beomgyu, ever since his suicide. he always thought he was to be blamed for his boyfriend's death and everything was his fault.
if only there was a way, he could go back in time and solve every possible things that went wrong, he would let go off his guilt.

he went to the bathroom and looked into the mirror. his face looked a bit paler than before, possibly from all the tears that ran down his face from the past two years.

"look what you've done to me choi beomgyu.", taehyun scoffed, pretending to let go off him but it was just way too hard.

coming out of the bathroom, he opened his closet and took out his usual office outfit. a formal white shirt with a tie, navy blue pants and a black blazer.

he came out of his room and then headed downstairs, where he saw kai sitting by the dining table with his eyes locked on his phone.

"good morning kai"

"oh you're here!", kai looked up and exclaimed,

"GUESS WHAT?"

"what?", taehyun was quite surprised with kai's sudden excitement, something that always made his lips curved a bit upwards.

"I MANAGED TO MAKE SOME EGGS TODAY WITHOUT BURNING THEM!"

taehyun made a 'i-am-done-wid-this-bish' typa face but then at the same time, he was quite glad that kai didn't again make something uneatable.

"t-that's great. congratulations!"

"thank you broski"

"stop calling me that", taehyun chuckled while eating kai's unburned eggs.

kai took a deep breath and looked at his roomate, "i missed that."

"missed what?"

"your smile."

taehyun didn't realise it. he really was smiling and chuckling at kai. it was like he almost forgot his pain and everything went back to normal for a second.

taehyun felt so grateful to have his bestfriend by his side. in the past two years, kai has always been there for him. taehyun couldn't even imagine living atleast not without kai.
