My heart shattered into a million pieces as Veer's words pierced through me like sharp knives. I couldn't believe that he married me just because he thought I saw his face. It made me sick to my stomach. He destroyed my life by marrying me.
"I hope it's all clear to you now," Veer said angrily.
"You are not my wife or a daughter-in-law of this house. You are just a burden and a prisoner to me. This room is your prison, and you are nothing but worthless. In front of others, you may be Mrs. Singhania, but in this room, you are nothing more than a prisoner. So, welcome to hell, Manvi Veer Singhania. You have brought a curse upon yourself with this so-called pretty bond. And let me warn you, if you ever try to ruin my gentleman image in front of anyone, I won't hesitate to kill you." Veer's words filled me with fear, and my heart raced faster. He left the room, leaving me alone. I couldn't hold back my tears as I sat on the floor, my back against the wall. My heart shattered into a million pieces when I realized that this marriage was nothing but a curse for me. I remember on my Mehendi day seeing Niddhi applying Mehendi with the name 'Veer Singhania' on her hands. When Chachu found out, he slapped Niddhi right in front of me. Niddhi tried to tell me something, but Chachi slapped her before she could finish. It became clear that they all knew why Veer was marrying me. They were paid off, and they sold me. They sold my life.
I got up from the floor and grabbed my suitcase. I opened it and took out my artwork - a drawing of Maa and Papa that I made when I was 9 years old. It always made me feel like they were still with me. I held the cardboard close to my chest and sat on the floor, my back against the bed.
"Maa, Papa, did you see what happened to me? Why didn't you take me with you? Why did you leave me all alone?" I sobbed. I felt lost and didn't know what to do. Aarti was the only support I had in my life, but she wasn't here with me. Tears streamed down my face as I removed all my jewelry and cried uncontrollably. I closed my eyes and held onto that drawing of my Maa and Papa tightly.
She made me cry, too, so it's difficult for me to write more about her pain. She was crying, and then she suddenly fell asleep. That's when Veer entered the room.
