The reception was slowly coming to an end, and I found myself seated next to Aarti at the table

The reception was slowly coming to an end, and I found myself seated next to Aarti at the table. "So, how's jiju doing, huh?" she asked with a curious tone. I tried to put on a brave face, but deep down, the reality of his true nature weighed heavily on me. He's a mafia boss, ruthless and devoid of compassion. How could he possibly care about my happiness when darkness consumes him? Standing right beside me, his presence felt suffocating. Despite my hopes for a connection with Niddhi or Mami, they chose to ignore me. Determined to bridge the gap, I approached Sobha Mami.

I reached out for a hug, and she reciprocated, but her whispered words cut deep, "How does it feel to steal our daughter's joy?" Her accusation pierced my heart. Tears threatened to spill, but then Maa intervened.

"She's now part of our family," Maa reassured Mami.

"She is our daughter, Singhania ji, now your daughter-in-law," Mami's words stung with insincerity. The hollowness of her statement felt like a thousand needles pricking my heart. A solitary tear escaped down my cheek.

"Why the tears, Manvi beta?" Maa's concern only intensified my pain.

"Nothing, Maa," I managed to say before seeking refuge in the washroom, battling to contain my emotions.

"They traded me away, yet accuse me of stealing their daughter's happiness," I whispered to myself. "Maa, Papa, I can't bear this existence any longer. I am shattered, completely shattered," I confessed, tears flowing freely. Just then, a knock on the door interrupted my moment of despair.

"Yes, who is this?" I said while trying to control the sound of my sobbing.

"Are you Manvi?" she asked.

"Yes, I am," I replied.

"Actually, your husband is outside calling you," she said.

"Hey Ram ji, why the hell is this danav calling me now?" I muttered.

"Oh... okay," I said. As I went out, I bumped into someone, feeling a strong hold on my waist. Opening my eyes, I saw my pati danav holding me. I quickly moved away from him. His hand brushed my cheeks, but I evaded his touch.

"It seems like you were crying, biwi ji," he said with a smirk.

"Beautiful, damn, next time cry in front of me," he demanded. I gazed at him with eyes full of questions.

"Sukoon, biwi ji, peace... I find peace when I see tears in your beautiful eyes," he stated, igniting anger within me.

"You know, whether I cry or smile, it depends on me, so stop this useless talk; it will be better for you," I retorted before storming off.

"Get inside the car; your prison, aka our room, is waiting for you," I heard his voice from behind. Just give me one chance, and I'll take revenge on him. I despise him.

We were in the car

We were in the car. She gazed out the window as I navigated the road. The gentle clinking of her bangles began to echo in my ears, a sound that seemed to pierce through the silence. "Could you please stop moving your hands?" I exclaimed, my voice tinged with frustration. Startled, she made a sudden movement, a flicker of tears evident in her eyes. Despite the tears welling up, I was too consumed with the sound of her suppressed sobs.

"Here," I said, offering her my handkerchief. As she wiped away her tears, the bangles resumed their soft jingle, a reminder of her distress.

I brought the car to a halt, reaching out to cup her cheeks, urging her to meet my gaze. "Listen, Manvi, or should I say my biwi ji , if I hear those sounds again, you won't escape the intensity of my touch," I warned, her eyes widening in response.

"Believe me, I follow through on my words," I cautioned before resuming our journey.

Upon arriving home, I noticed her walking ahead of me, and then I saw it - her blouse dori was undone. Moving closer, I secured the dori for her. "Let go," she whispered softly.

"If I let go, toh aapka kya hoga janabe ali sorry biwi ji ?" I replied as I fastened her dori. Despite her shock at my actions, I chose to disregard her reaction.

"It's hard to believe she's the same girl I saw at the fair," I murmured to myself.

"Wait... " she said and stopped.

" Now what ?" I ask in frustration.

"Thank you," she said, but I continued on my way, heading towards the room.
