CHAPTER FOUR

With no expectations of receiving messages, a pleasant surprise awaited me as I tuned into the recording. Bobo's voice conveyed, 'Hello Yiyi, I am Bobo. Today at the ski academy, Ahzhuo looked genuinely happy. Usually, his attention is on Feier, but today, it was you. He appeared comfortable and content in your company. Even I felt exceptionally happy and at ease when I was with you guys. I cherished the moment you suggested exchanging tickets, particularly because you wanted to know Ahzhuo better. Removing the earphones, I addressed the room, 'I have a question here.' Yaya inquired eagerly, 'What's the answer?' A harmonious 'ohhhh' resonated through the room in unison.

As I chuckled lightly, I resumed listening to the messages, finding two awaiting me. Yaya's excited voice filled the air, exclaiming, 'She got two messages.' The second one began, 'Hi Yiyi, I am Ahzhuo.' His name alone brought a smile to my face, evident to Yaya who remarked, 'Oh, she is smiling.' Meng Meng noted, 'She looked happy.' My elation surfaced as I couldn't resist flipping my hair in excitement, prompting Ajie to comment, 'Oh, she flipped her hair. Who sent her a message?' Intrigued, I continued listening to Ahzhuo's heartfelt words. He expressed, 'I am Ahzhuo. I received your message for two days straight now. It surprised me, honestly. I also didn't think I would get your message in the Snow Mountain. I had a great time at the snow mountain and the ski academy. It's because of you and the talk we had in the cabin that I could sort out my feelings. I picked the place with vinyl records. Now, I have a question for you: among the boys, who do you seem to be more attracted to now?' Contemplating his query, I looked around at everyone. Yaya chimed in, 'Do you have a question?' Bobo's glance toward Ahzhuo led to a remark, 'It's tricky.' Ahzhuo questioned, 'Is it?' Pondering a bit more, I was interrupted by Ahzhuo saying, 'Leave it if you don't feel like answering it.' With a smile, I shared, 'It's not hard, but I just don't want to let everyone know.' Yaya suggested, 'Say something indirectly, then.' I nodded and said, 'Then for now... you will find out yourself later anyway.' The room echoed with a collective 'ohhh' in response.

After returning to my seat, it was Konglong's turn, and I didn't know him well enough to discern who sent him a message. In the end, he admitted, 'I can't recognize the voice at all.' Meng Meng, annoyed, shouted, 'Let me, okay.' Their playful banter filled the room, evoking laughter from everyone. Yaya went next, and she received her message from Hui Hui. At the end, she said, 'You can call me the same way as you did earlier today.' Hui Hui immediately replied, 'Okay, baby.' Surprised reactions ensued, except for mine and Ahzhuo's, as we recalled him using the term in the van. Ahzhuo's exasperation was evident as he muttered, 'That's enough. I've had enough.' Meng Meng, finding joy in others' romance, took her turn next. Konglong eventually admitted he was the sender by saying he needed to clear up any misunderstanding. Meng Meng assured him she understood what he meant. Finally, it was Ahzhuo's turn. Yaya looked at him and said, 'Your turn now.' Ahzhuo replied, 'Wouldn't that be worse if I had none?' Yaya assured him, 'That won't happen.'

Yaya already knew that Ahzhuo was getting a message from me. He sat down and put the earphones on. I eagerly awaited his reaction. In my message, I said, 'Hello, it's me Yiyi again. I had a lot of fun these days and it's especially because of you. I don't know if I will get a message from you, but I want you to do what your heart tells you to do. You have been the one choosing a person firmly till now, and I think it's time that you get chosen firmly as well. I know we spent one whole day together and you still might not choose me, and it's fine. I made the decision of you being my firm choice from the moment I got to know you, and that was when I helped you cook during my first day. I know we didn't talk much, but I observed you and how you were around everyone else.' I could feel him staring at me, and everyone else was also looking at me while I smiled at him. Yaya asked me, 'What did you tell him?' I replied, 'I don't remember,' and just smiled. I had also asked a couple of questions for him. I said, 'If you are ready to know more about me, and if you remember I asked you to keep your attention on me at the Snow Mountain's message. I now want to ask you to keep your eyes on me permanently. If yes to both of my questions, then just come pat my head and sit down. If no, then do push-ups 50 times.'
