I was currently standing in a hotel lobby, checking in to get a room for a few nights. I leaned against the front desk, hoping someone would help me soon. It had been a few days since I left my family's mansion to hopefully give myself a purpose and find people who understood me. Most of my life, all I have done was take care of my little sister.

To be honest, I didn't mind it. I loved my sister more than life itself. Especially since our own parents never cared about us. I knew when my sister was born that they wouldn't take care of her properly, so I took it upon myself to do it for them. All my life up until this moment, my little sister was my purpose, but now, as she turned twenty-one, I don't need to. So it was the perfect opportunity to leave.

Not leave my sister persay but to leave and give myself the chance of being fully happy. Finally, a hotel employee came up to the desk, snapping me out of my thoughts. " Hello, miss, how can I help you?" The employee asked with a smile. I turned around and pulled out enough money for a hotel room for three nights. "Yes, I would. I would like to stay for three nights, please, " I said with a slight smile. The employee happily took the money, and in return, she gave me a hotel room key card.

I shook my head as a thank you as I walked to the elevator and pressed the button. When I opened my hotel door and sighed as I entered. I sat on the bed and placed my bag down. I pulled my phone out of my bag and saw all the missed calls and texts from my sister. I opened my phone and called her. I knew she would probably be worried since I left without a word. She quickly answers my call, her voice filled with worry.

"Mari! Where are you? Are you ok?!" Lilith's muffled voice ringing through the phone. I could hear the pain in her voice. "Sorry, little flower, but I decided to leave home," I said sadly. There was nothing but silence on the other end. Then I heard her voice sadden at my words.

"Why not Mari?" Lilith asked, her voice breaking. I could feel myself cry just by hearing the sadness in her voice."I'm sorry, Lilith, but it's what's best for me. I hope you understand, " I said, my voice filled with sadness. A few minutes later, we ended the phone call. I was still upset and was trying not to cry. I loved my sister, and hearing her about to cry hurt me in ways that I don't know how.
