Years ago, the lovely CaptainLoloDaBest dropped a headcannon in an extra chapter:

May goes to Coulson when she has nightmares and sometimes the buskids hear their conversations.

I wanted to make a chapter about that myself, and that's the final result:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Takes place between season two and three)

Daisy was standing in the kitchen and started making herself tea, when suddenly she heard a loud noise. It sounded a little bit like broken glass.

She grabed her cup of tea and approached the hallway where the sound had come from.

Carefully she crept through the darkness, one hand raised so that she could use her powers if there's emergency.

When Daisy had traversed the corridor halfway, she could see two figures apear in the dark.

Relieved, she lowered her hand and came closer.

"What are you doing here?" She asked FitzSimmons but the pair just stood there and looked around slightly confused.

"Actually we couldn'd sleep and wanted to make us tea but then we heard this strange noises. Do you know what happend?" Jemma replied.

Daisy just shrugged her shoulders. "That's exactly what I wanted to find out."

"Wait, have you seen this?" Fitz asked and pointed to a door behind them that Daisy hasn't recognized yet. An OPEN door!

Daisy frowned as she realized where this door led to.

"That's May's door!" She wispered surprised.
They exchanged a look, then slowly approached the door.

Daisy handed Simmons her tea for having both hands ready to fight.
She didn't doubt in the slightest that May could defend herself against sudden opponents, but better safe than sorry.
When she entered the room she was surprised that it was empty.
Another unusual thing was the pile of shards in front of the nightstand.

"What the hell happend? And where's May?"

The two girls unfortunally couldn't answer Fitz' questions.

Daisy was busy looking at the broken glass while the two scientists continued to look around the room, when suddenly quiet sobs filled the air.

Daisy got up and slowly led FitzSimmons back into the hallway.

They followed the sound further down the corridor.
Unexpected, Simmons stoped them after a few meters.

"Look!" Her voice wasn't louder than a whisper when she approached another door.

Now they could even hear something else.
There was a quit voice that seemed to be constantly murmuring unaudible words.

Without saying anything Simmons pointed out to the higher part of the door.

DIRECTOR COULSON

was standing on a sign clear and very readable.

Luckily the door was only hinged and not fully closed.
There was still a small gap which was used by the three detectives to look inside the room.
Till their eyes could handle the dark, they tried to understand as much as possible.

But the first thing they could really hear, was desperate sobbing and a person trying to calm someone else down.

"Shhhh, it's okay....you're not there.....you're here with me.....your safe, I promise.....you did good....you had no other choice....you saved so many lives....you're a hero...."
