Family.
People you may not always like but you will always love.
Family could be so many things, close family, extended family, close friends, a pet, in-laws.
Without family you're nothing, with people who will stand ten toes behind you, you know you're secure, you know you have people who would do anything for you.
Family is the key to a successful life, a happy life... A secure life.
And when I look at Milani and Daireon eating in the kitchen that's all I see, Success, happiness and security and I'm sure of it.
Then I become confused all over again, I hated Milani, I didn't want to look her in the eyes, if I even heard her name I would walk out of the room, I despised her, now I'm picturing Her, Daireon and I standing in front of a two story house with white picket fences with a pet dog smiling like we're in modern family or some shit.
She looks over at me and smiles, it was the most beautiful thing I've seen in a while if I could spend the rest of my life making her smile I would.
I shake my head, the fuck is wrong with me, I won't fall for her again, I did that and when it was time to let go of her I acted a fool and I didn't know what the hell to do with myself.
{Flashback}
I had just confronted Milani, I didn't want to just walk out on her as she cried but I didn't know what to do, I was just as hurt, I was angry, scratch that I was furious,I trusted her, she was my best friend even before the whole relationship thing, I loved her, I trusted her with my life, I would remember this forever and nothing will ever feel worse than it, nothing will hurt as much as this, and nothing will make me forgive her.
I couldn't even think properly as I walk out of the school, I couldn't breathe properly, my vision was becoming blurry, everything was slowly becoming drowned out, the whispers of everyone talking about my family echoed, why would she try to embarrass me like that, why would she try to destroy everything we've built just to ruin my life, I had so many questions that I would never get the answer to because I walked out and I don't ever plan on walking back in.
"Devon!"
"Devon!" I turn around and I see a lightskin girl with pig tails and glasses walking up to me, I scrunch my face up, I didn't know who she was.
"Wassup?"
"My name's Alana and I just wanted to say I heard what happened, I'm really sorry," she says.
"It's all good, thanks though," I say turning back around and walking towards the bus stop.
"Hey so you wanna hang out sometime?" She tilts her head smiling at me showing her braces, she was pretty.
