A few years had passed by now. The colt stood in the cave, attempting to stack rocks on top of each other.

"I already told you, I can't do it!" The young pony complained. "It's too hard!"

The voice sighed. "Y/N, you must know that practice makes perfect. You can't expect to immediately know how magic works. These things take time. Now lets try this again. Focu-"

"No!" The colt exclaimed, stamping his hoof on the floor. "This is boring! I'm going for a swim." The young pony bolted out from the cave, an angry look on his face. In the back of his mind, the voice sighed with annoyance.

As he exited the cave, he skidded to a halt. He took a deep breath of fresh air. The smell of wild flowers wafted though the air. The sun blazed in the sky. He jumped down from the cave entrance onto the grass. The very field he woke up on.

Y/N slowly made his way through the field. It was a large clearing, with tall trees encircling it. Past the trees, the forest seemed to go on forever. It was known as the Everfree Forest. Or at least, that's what the voice called it.

Y/N happily strolled through the forest, stepping over fallen twigs and branches. While unbeknownst to him, multiple timberwolves quickly scattered from the area in fear.

The colt eventually reached the river. He stuck a hoof in, testing the temperature. Just right.

With a satisfied sigh, he sank down in the water, with just his head above. His body ached from using all that magic. "Ohhh... this is nice..." Y/N murmured.

"Don't forget." The voice chided. "You can't stay here for too long. Otherwise-"

"Yes, Delight. I know. Some ponies might find me and try to hurt me." Y/N mocked in his voice. The colt ducked his head under the water, blowing some bubbles for good measure, before whipping his head back up.

"You know, I'm only looking out for you." The voice said. Y/N rolled his eyes. As if Delight didn't tell him all the time.

"Hmmpf... Whatever..." Y/N mumbled. He stuck his head under the water again, blowing some more bubbles. He lifted his head, shaking the water out his mane. The cool water ran over his back, sending shivers down his spine. Y/N smiled. Swimming always made everything better.

"Whatever! I'm not scared at all!" A shrill voice startled Y/N. His eyes widened, and he froze in fear.

"We aren't supposed to go into the forest, remember? It's bad enough that we got far." Another voice said.

"Quickly! Hide!" The voice hissed in Y/N's mind. He unfroze, clumsily climbing out of the river. He sprinted over to a tree and hid behind it, breathing heavily.

"Yeah, well, all those stories are fake. I bet the forest is fine to explore." The other voice said.

"Y/N, what are you doing! You need to run away!" The voice hissed. Y/N peaked out from the tree, his wet mane flopping down on his face.

On the path were two small ponies, the same size as Y/N.

"Y/N! I'm warning you! Leave now!" The voice almost begged. Y/N didn't listen. He stared at the ponies from behind the tree, his heart beating a million miles an hour.

They certainly didn't look evil.

Y/N's eyes narrowed. He took a step closer out from the tree to get a better look.

Crack!

A twig snapped under his hoof. The two ponies turned towards Y/N. His eyes widened.

"Run!" The voice screamed. It was no longer was calm and collected.

Y/N froze.

And then he ran.
