More years have passed at this point, and Y/N is now a young adult colt

"Do you honestly ever shut up?" Y/N grumbled. He calmly strolled through the forest, levitating two large pieces of quartz in the air.

"Y/N, you know that I'm just-"

"Looking out for me, yeah. I know." Y/N rolled his eyes.

"Staying away from the path is very important." The voice chided. "Every day you get closer and closer to the edge of the forest."

"Oh dear! Whatever shall become of me?!" Y/N mocked. "Do you want me to shut you out again?"

The voice didn't say anything.

Y/N smirked. 'Thank god I figured out how to block my thoughts.' He thought to himself. Delight was fun to talk to sometimes, but a guy needs some alone time every now and then. He was just glad that he didn't run into any other horrible ponies in the forest.

Delight had told him horror stories about the entirety of Equestria. A kingdom ruled by two authoritarian Princesses, who enforced strict rules and guidelines.

"But why should I stay in the forest?" Y/N had said. "It's so close to the other village."

"The forest is protected." Delight explained. "Any evil is repelled, while kindness and innocence is protected."

Of course, Y/N didn't know any better. But it made sense, and he didn't really care. Y/N was perfectly content with a calm and uneventful life.

Or was he?

Y/N reached the clearing where he had woken up, all those years ago. In the middle was a dark circle, where the grass had seemingly died. It had never grown back.

He climbed up the ledge, reaching the entrance to the cave. Inside, was full of old trinkets and gemstones that he had 'found'. They seemed to be magnetized to Y/N and every day he collected more and more. Today, though, he was trying a brand new spell.

"Alright, you remember what to do?" Delight said in his mind. Y/N rolled his eyes. He really should have blocked him out.

"Yes. This isn't the first time I've done this." Y/N mumbled.

"If you say so." Delight said. "Let's hope this actually works this time." Y/N nodded in response, before setting the two large quartz rocks down on a makeshift table. Closing his eyes, Y/N concentrated. His horn glowed with energy, and a black aura formed around him. The two rocks levitated once more, and began spinning in opposite directions. One spinning clockwise, the other, counter-clockwise.

"Remember to take it slow, you don't want-"

"I got it!" Y/N hissed. He took a deep breath, before slowly moving the rocks closer to one another.

Princess Celestia sighed. Another day of boring meetings and consultations. Of course, it was all worth it. Princess was a title and an honour that she was proud of, and ever since Twilight sparkle and her friends had defeated Nightmare Moon and rescued her sister, it was going even better.

She yawned, before standing up. 'I wonder how long this is going to last, before there's inevitably another big event.' She thought. A small part of her brain said, 'there we go, you jinxed it.'
