Big Problem

Chapter 5: Mistake! Help!

"Remy!" I shouted, crawling over to her. She looked like she was still shrinking and then I noticed I was, too. And Jane and Mary were still growing with their eyes closed and still leaning forward in pain.

"We took the wrong potion and now we're tiny," Remy said scaredly.
"We're really small, and we're still shrinking," I said.
Remy looked around at the giant world around us now. "Oh! Look at Mary and Jane! They're ginormous!"

"Where are the potions?" I said, standing up, suddenly smaller than Remy.
"There," Remy pointed forward at the gigantic glass bottles still filled with some of the potion.
"Which was the one we took?" I said.

"This one," Remy said, patting the one standing up.
"We gotta get to the growing potion," I said with worry. "Where is it?"
"Oh no! It's broken!" Remy said, pointing at the shattering glass beneath Mary's foot.

"They're growing really fast," I said. "Let's move!"
We moved away as fast as we could while we shrunk and our friends grew.
"This isn't what I was expecting my first day here," I said, running and pulling my bigger friend Remy along.

We tripped on some sort of super tiny pebble and turned around. Mary and Jane were huge now, and they stopped growing.
I stopped shrinking and so did Remy, who was still taller despite our newfound height.

Mary and Jane looked around excitedly and then looked down trying to see me and Remy.
"We're here!" I yelled desperately, waving my tiny arms up and down.
Somehow, Jane saw us and picked us up.

"You guys are so small!" she said surprised. "You took the shrinking potion!"
"How long will this shrinking effect last on us?" I said sadly, sitting in Jane's hand.
"I don't know," Jane said. "Depending on how much you drank, and if you only drank a little bit, maybe the rest of this day."

"What about you?" Remy asked. "The bottle broke on Mary's knee, which is why you're smaller than her."
"For me, the rest of this day," Jane said. "For her, maybe... a week..."

"We need to find help," Mary said. "Where's the shrinking potion?"
"Down there," I said, pointing at the ground with my tiny finger.
"We'll take some so we're back to normal," Mary said.

"Be careful with it," Jane said. "I can't make more if you break that too."
"I can't believe you talked us into this," I said. "Me and Remy are shrunk super small now and we have no way to grow back."

"If I shrink back down with the potion, I can make a new growing potion," Jane said.
Mary gave her the bottle and Jane drank the rest of the shrinking potion to shrink back to her normal size.

But she didn't stop at her normal size. She started shrinking smaller and smaller until she was just a bit taller than Remy.

"Jane you shrank too much." Mary said.
"That's not good," Jane said. "Pick us up and take us back to school!"
Mary fit us all in one hand and ran off. Me and Remy started shrinking again though.
