It was break and everyone went home, except me and the teachers, literally. I was the only student at Ilvomorny. I laid in bed reading an advanced transfiguration book. I practiced waving my wand then saying it and finally together. I grinned when my small ring turned into a headband. I picked it up and looked at it. Smooth. The warm spring wind blew into the room.

A few pictures from the wall flew off. I hopped over the railing and hurried to pick them up. They were some of the new ones we put up. Nora and I re-trying that yoga pose. Nora, Sage, and I were up in a tree laughing. A picture of us studying in the library and a picture of us under the lofts laughing. I smiled at them when two letters were dropped into my lap. I looked over and saw an owl leaving the widow. I put the pictures on the dressers and moved to sit under the beds. I ripped the first open.

Dear my perfect friend,

I miss you so much. It's been ages! I'm so tired and Ace has been great about helping me. Mum is sick and dad isn't sure what to do. I know you're always praying so add that to your list, please. Charlie is still training Oliver, he's working the boy like a dog. I'm almost concerned. He's seemed off lately but I don't think it's much, probably just your absence. Gryffindor is unfortunately doing very well this term. I suppose I'll keep this one short.

Love you always,

Sophia Ray

I grinned and opened the second.

Dear Kaitlyn,

This is Mrs. Weasley. I hope you are doing well, the kids would like me to tell you the quidditch this year has been amazing. How are your classes? We miss you here, though you were only at the borrow once I believe the absence of your spirit around the boys has changed them. Especially Charlie. Again I hope you're well and have adjusted smoothly.

Love Mrs. Weasley and the Weasley

I smiled and opened the door to leave but paused. I picked up the picture of Nora, Sage, and I under our lofts laughing and the one of us in the trees. I nodded and ran to the library. I ran as fast as my feet would carry me. I reached the library and quickly wrote a response.

Dear Mrs. Weasley,

I'm glad to hear about the quidditch season. I miss you all so much, it was a hard start but I'm having a good time. I'm most of the material is the same in classes but the professors insist on being called Mr and Mrs and they call us by our first names. It's quite an odd adjustment. I really love my charms professor Mrs. Forest. The picture is of me and my friends/roommates Nora (blonde with blue eyes) and Sage (brunette with brown eyes). I miss you all so much, and can't wait to visit once I'm of age.

Love Kaitlyn

Dear best friend ever,

I miss you so much! I'll be praying, I'm sure there's some plan. Have you painted your nails lately? It might make you feel better. Oliver will be fine I'm sure, Ace must be overjoyed to have you to himself this break. I'm sure Charlie's fine without me. He must be enthused about quidditch! I miss you so very much!

Love your wonderful friend,

Kaitlyn

Ps these are my roommates. Nora (blonde) and Sage (brunette) they're great but I miss you.

I nodded and ran to the mailing room. As I turned the corner I almost ran into Mrs. Forest.

"Oh, Kaitlyn. Where are you off to in such a rush?" She laughed. I smiled.
