"Are you serious? This man rented out a restaurant to make sure you were comfortable and you rather talk about his ex wife"? KJ laughed in her ear, "You never cease to amaze me" As bad as she didn't want to, Crystal joined in with her friend's laughter.
"At the end of the day Im his friend first but I be damn if I get blindsided and caught up because I decided to bite my tongue. I learned my lesson" Crystal explained while gathering what she needed for a shower.
"What's gonna happen if he answers one of these questions with something you don't wanna hear?" KJ asked, making Crystal shrug as if she could see her. "Who said he hasn't? I can tell he's been honest with me and I appreciate it so if it got there, it'll be business as usual. All this other stuff will be deaded" Crystal replied.
"Mm sound good" KJ replied, making Crystal smack her lips. "You said you was his friend first, so what are you now? His 2nd wife?" Crystal rolled her eyes at the sound of gitty in her ear "Khaneshia please. You about to piss me off"
"All I'm saying is you act real hard about this man and this situation but I know you"
"I know myself too, that's why I've been asking what I feel I need to." Crystal said, reliving the questions and answers the day before. "Oh and she only told me about that threesome to make me jealous, just as we thought"
"Mhm. That poor girl"
"How could I be jealous when he knew me before I knew him?" Crystal snickered before she looked in the mirror. "Riight. It's giving once a fan, always a fan"! KJ cut up right behind her friend like they always do. They laughed a little more before Crystal realized what time it was.
"It's already after 9, I'm gonna hop in this shower and get ready for service" Crystal said, turning the shower on.
"You still cooking tonight or you still love to lie?" KJ asked
"Well I wanted to but Devale said he has something going on at his house tonight he wants me to be a part of"
"Hmm, wonder what could that be?"
"I don't know and he knows how I feel about surprises. If it doesn't involve a plane ticket and a few suitcases or something that blings I don't want it" Crystal said making KJ laugh "He only does this stuff to me cause he likes getting on my nerves" Crystal said but it would be hard to tell by the smile she wore as she spoke.
"It's crazy how life works, I swear. You sound just like Fatima" KJ laughed again.
"BYE KJ" Crystal said, trying not to feed further into her friend's shenanigans. She hung up and shook her head, unable to deny how right her was. After undressing and double checking her shower she stared at her naked reflection in the mirror. A soft sigh left her lips at the same time she exhaled a deep breath.
"You wouldn't give me someone else's husband" she said before grabbing her towel and turning to walk towards the shower. "But he's getting a divorce and separated counts for something though right?" she opened the glass door, hot steam smacking her in the face. "Tuh, barrely" she sung making herself laugh as she stepped in.
"I've loved this man for so long. I should have been talking to you about this but I never thought it would get this far" she chuckled like God was sitting in the room with her and because of Crystal's faith, she knew He was.
"I'm not a home wrecker. That's not me" she said while adding her favorite body wash on her African net. "Why did you make him so perfect for me though? Why didn't I met him before she did? I'm not saying his kids were a mistake but why make us so perfect together?" She immediately felt bad for questioning God and His timing but there was so much she didn't understand and never thought to seek answers for until now.
