Chapter Nine
Yoongi sighed as he finally made his way down to greet Fawn. he stopped halfway down the steps when voices carried up.
"I heard that the goblin had no right; his father put a bounty on his head, " the woman's voice said.
"Well, I heard that Mr. Jimin had already talked to Madam Fawn and made arrangements to bring the halfling here and officially court him. There was an announcement, and everything was all official," the other voice replied and then sighed. That beast always wants what Mr. Jimin has; he has always been jealous."
Yoongi furrowed his brow. He would have to ask Pamela why he didn't remember anything. He listened closer as they switched the topic from him and Jimin to Yoongi and Fawn.
"I heard that Madam and his mother were best friends," the one woman said.
This piqued Yoongi's interest; he wanted to know why she had been so kind to him.
"Well, I heard that she blames herself for what happened that night."
They stopped talking when the click of a heel echoed through the front hall. Yoongi sucked in a breath, steadying himself as he walked the rest of the way down the stairs. Jimin looked beautiful; his heartbeat sped up as he watched the man walk towards him. His soft footfalls making their way towards Yoongi, he wanted nothing more than it to be someone else walking towards him, anyone; he would take Hobi and his enteral sunshine or Jungkook, who liked to constantly bug Yoongi for no reason other than to just hang out with him while Tae was off on some errand.
"Yoongi," Jimin called out when he spotted him.
Yoongi gave a small nod as he made it to the bottom step; he put a hand up, stopping Jimin from talking. He took a deep breath and braced himself, "I'm sorry, I thought something that I was wrong about," Yoongi said, looking down at his shoes; he put his hand down, playing with the hem of his suit jacket.
Yoongi waited. He didn't know if Jimin was going to get mad or smack him, but he waited. When he finally looked up, Jimin was still there looking at him with an amused look on his face. He licked his lips, tugging his plump bottom through his teeth. The action made Yoongi want to whimper.
"You got it all wrong. I want to kiss you, I want to do everything with you, but," Jimin paused, watching Yoongi's reactions. I want to wait until you are really ready," Jimin finished.
Yoongi didn't know what to say. He stood there, looking down at his feet, letting the words process: "I..."
"Just the two I was looking for," Jin's voice called out, echoing off the marble.
"We can talk more after dinner," Jimin whispered, turning to face the older fairy.
Yoongi followed a few steps behind Jimin, listening to him and Jin talk about some other family they were having problems with. There was always some sort of infighting going on between the fairy families. Yoongi noticed this, too, when he was with Luka. Most of it was small squabbles, but this seemed much bigger than what Yoongi could catch in their hushed tones.
The smell of meat made Yoongi's stomach rumble. He was surprised that he was hungry with the amount of food he and Jimin had eaten at lunch. Yoongi was sure he would be full for the rest of the night. The smell of the garlic and herbs mixed in with the veggies was amazing as the aroma wafted around the room. Yoongi broke away from Jimin and Jin, moving to the other side of the room, hoping no one would notice him.
He walked down the buffet line, noticing that it wasn't even the main meal but the appetizers that were smelling amazing. He grabbed the small plate and added a few things he knew, like stuffed mushrooms, and a few things he didn't, but he wasn't one to complain about eating. Yoongi looked around. Everyone was talking amongst themselves. There were a few people he recognized as staff, but the rest he didn't know must have accompanied Fawn. he found a seat in the corner of the room, far enough that most people wouldn't notice him but close enough that it looked like he was part of the party.
