The news that Yoona Moon-Bane had been cursed spread like wildfire over the school, and became a hot topic for gossip in Attia's own common room. Yoona had been moved to St Mungo's the very next day... Attia loathed that two people she loved most were there this very moment.

'Heard Yoona was cursed,' Pansy's annoying voice began to taunt from behind the couch Attia was sitting at, absently-mindedly staring into the middle fold of her open book she had not flipped the page of for an hour. Even Selina was getting annoyed with the lack of attention her owner was giving her. Pansy was pretending Attia wasn't there.

Attia tried to ignore her, but she went on.

'Well, the dark lord is back. And he's coming to power, so it only makes sense that mudblood mystic kook got what was coming to her.'

Some people around audibly gasped. It was a known taboo speaking of Yoona with the derogatory term, and so outright a challenge of Attia who'd enforced it that way. And had already beat up Pansy before for dropping the slur.

Attia flinched, turning around but wanted to desperately ignore Pansy. She didn't have the mind to start a fight in her volatile state, so beyond emotionally exhausted. Her migraine was evident from a restless, anxiety filled night. She hated for her enemies to see her down, but in all, she was still only a sixteen year old trying to shoulder it all. Her eyes were fighting back tears as Pansy was only doing this to rile her. Unfortunately, it was succeeding.

Pansy had always found opportunities like this. In fourth year, Attia had gone as Harry's partner for the Yule Ball. Her dress had been a white, almost cream coloured slip with a robe attached at the straps, and pinned to bracelets at her wrists and golden accents. Hermione had purchased a test round of Sleakeazy's and Attia had quickly found a way to pirate and recreate it for herself without have to pay the extra galleons for the brand, and hence had smoothed out her curls and tossed them behind her shoulders effortlessly. Her angular face, the slope of her neck into her shoulders, and big eyes no longer obscured by the mess of curls had frozen some Slytherins in their steps, hardly recognizing who had left the dungeons earlier than the rest. The effect of the transformation hadn't been as much as the flabbergasted expressions at Hermione Granger. But then, during the dance, Attia's dress had spun around as she was lifted into the air and gave the effect of a pure white butterfly, there was divided attentions throughout the night.

Pansy had attempted to mock her choice in partner— but couldn't find a scrutinizing comment at the right time throughout the ball.

How had Attia gone with Harry Potter?— A) he had no one and she needed to make George, her then crush, jealous after he had rejected her invitation in an embarrassing moment for her in the study hall B) Potter had no clue a third of the Potter Stinks badges had been distributed by her.

Speaking of George, when Attia had briefly left her friends and made her way to the punch table, she was accosted by him on why she had gone with Harry. When she gave no reason, as she had no inclination to do so, it only seemed to boil his envy more, he had interrupted her march back to her friends and ended with an accidental large red stain from juice all over the front of her dress.

Boom. Attia fled the great hall after shouting at him, her eyes turning red and wet and Pansy had her opportunity to cackle to high heaven at her. Strangely enough, it had been Harry Potter to comfort her despite them only using each other as partners for convenience, and it had been one of the better moments of Attia's interaction with him. Even better, when they were outside in the cold and she was tear stained and stumbling upon a strange conversation between Igor and Snape, it made for a good cover when Harry had been caught.

Away from that tangent, Pansy had relished in the little things like that ever since. Why? Well, Attia spited her for her nasty remarks at every chance as well. Starting with the very first slap to the face in second year.
