TW: mention(direct/indirect) of self-harm, bullying, self-hatred, mention of burning skin and getting nearly drowned,
Scarlett woke up from her bed with overpowering pain weighing her down like a burden too heavy to bear, Scarlett managed to leave the comfort of her sheets despite her older sister's persistence and annoyance, and she was reluctant to wake up. She got herself together for school. it was one of the last days of high school for her, She hated going there and aspired to go to a prestigious college and university, but she hadn't got the reply yet and she doubted that she would get into it, this was a school that helped you train to be a hero and do other courses while you were doing that, so she had no chance, right?
Scarlett hated going there because she always got made fun of by people for not even possessing the littlest magic. High school was no fun(it was a battleground in there)especially when people used their abilities to take advantage of her, like breaking her glasses, burning her, or trying to drown her and using other unorthodox methods. But somehow, she managed to survive through all of that. She would try to get help but only get shut down and her voice silenced by teachers, She didn't tell her parents about this situation at all in the entirety of high school, they wouldn't understand how she felt, and they never did. It wasn't like she did anything wrong she was top of the class in every subject(except m.t and P.E ), she had friends but they did not protect her from those who did horrible things to her, she was more like a "floater friend" and was useful when needed to do homework for them or help them on tests, she hated herself a lot for being practically useless just because she didn't possess magic, not having any magical abilities not even the smallest spark of magic or transformation happen to her,it was just the worst. both of her parents possessed some magic yet, she just had to be "different".There was always a constant reminder that she didn't belong in this world and would never be.
these thoughts frustrated Scarlett on her way to school, once she entered she headed straight to class she couldn't bother herself to be in the hallway just for nothing other than getting teased or getting physically hurt by people. she walked into the foul-smelling classroom startling Ms. Smith. Scarlett sat down and Ms. Smith looked back into the computer and started typing away again. Ms.Smith knew that Scarlett did this often, always coming early and having perfect attendance. So she didn't care nor mind it really, Scarlett didn't like her English teacher so much, she was a very moody person, and even when she tried in class she would always put something like 4 for behaviour for learning which she was bitter about, Oh and in tests she never marks anyone test correctly except the favourites students also known as the class pets, Scarlett knew she deserved higher marks but ms. smith never listened to anyone, not many people liked her.
it was soon after the students started arriving to class, that the teasing began once again, another amazing day of life in high school, well soon she'll leave this hell...
