I love my children but there love is based on how they do as my children. If they bring shame to my name then they are shunned. I don't care what people think of my decisions on parenting, they are my kids and I will discipline them how I please. That's all I have to say about my children.
My wife is annoying and mean in some peoples eyes, but I think the way we treat our children is for us to decide. My wife and I follow the same rules, but ushally she is the one to discipline the children. Weatherburys are strong people and we have to keep one another out of trouble for our own sakes. This is just how I run things on the Weatherbury Grounds. If you don't like it then you have your own opinion and I can't say that you are not allowed to think that way, but do look at it from mine or my wife's eyes. I hope to see you at the party, my wife has spent months of planning for this. This is all I have to say, I'm a man who likes to keep to myself most of the time.

Sincerely, William Weatherbury
