Now... she looks afraid. She draws back. My Shadow opens its eyes. Her eyes widen as the wolf shadow lowers its head. I walk forward. She growls like a scared puppy. I grip my fists. I'm done running away from her. I have nothing else to fear from her.

"Get the fuck away from us." I hiss.

She draws back and looks very surprised. Then she lets out a breath and starts chuckling.

"You are much more than I first suspected Altruist." She chuckles.

"I'll take that as a compliment." I say.

Antony and Sherry manage to find us in this tangle of trees.

"Al!" Antony yells.

"I've called the police!" Sherry yelled.

I look at them.

"My dear I had this handled." I say.

"Of course you did." She picks up her hat.

She places it on her head.

"We'll meet again. Alastor, the hunt is still on." Shadows wrap around her.

She disappears. I let out a breath. My knees feel suddenly very heavy. So, I plop on the floor. Antony runs over and kisses me straight on the lips. I am relieved it's over to an extent. My breath feels the cold but I am so relieved.

"You did it!" Antony yells.

"It's freezing out. Let's go back inside and I'll make some hot coco." Sherry says.

Antony helps me up. I turn. I see the wolf's eyes narrow. I know it's not over. The hunt is still going on. She escaped and she's going to come back again. But the deer is resourceful. Quick. Clever. Whatever she brings against me, I'll be ready for it.
