It's been a few hours since I went to sleep. It was dark and musty outside from the rain. It was still raining, but it was drizzling, so not too bad. I rolled over to my other side and came in contact with another body. Wait—

"What the hell..." I said, as I sat up in my bed. "Zuri? Zuri?" I said, trying to wake her up. "Zuri, wake up,"

"What Justin?"

"Uh, this is not Justin,"

"Duke?!"

She got up and gasped and jumped out the bed.

"Oh my gosh! I thought you were Justin. When did you get in here?"

"I don't know. I forgot you were here—"

"Did we do anything?"

"No! No, we did not! I would never stood that low,"

"Okay. Not that I would care,"

"Huh?"

"I have to get back home now. I can't stay over here forever,"

"What did you say?"

"I said I have to get back home,"

"Before that,"

"Duke, are you gonna take me back home or not?"

"So you really—okay. Where you stay at?"

"Just on the out skirts of the city. Timber Ridge,"

"That's actually not far from me. I didn't know you stayed that close,"

"It's a small world. Are my clothes dry?"

"Yeah. Let me go and get them for you,"

"Thanks,"

Now, now, now...she think she slick. Does she want me? I mean who doesn't? Not trynna be cocky or none, but I mean, hey! Why not? If she was comfortable to say that, maybe I can ask to see her again.

I gathered her belongings, folded them, and headed back to the room. I put her clothes in a nice bag so she wouldn't have to hold them in her hands.

"Here you go,"

"Thank you so much, Duke. I appreciate it,"

"No worries. I enjoyed having you stay over. While we're here though, uhm, I was thinking that maybe we can see each other again. I know you got a man and all but—"

"Hell yes! When you free again?" She smiled.

This was easier than expected.

"Well, I'm off tomorrow. We can do whatever you wanna do,"

"Hmm...I wanna go to the pumpkin patch,"

"The pumpkin patch? That's open?"

"Yeah. Justin turned me down on it so...I thought that was a good idea,"

"You have one sorry ass boyfriend,"

"I guess you're right..."

"But we can most definitely go. What time does it open?"

"At ten! I wanna get the perfect pumpkin so I can decorate it!"

"We can come to my place and decorate as many as you want,"

"Okay, then it's settled! Okay, imma walk down to the street and you can pick me up from there—"

"No. Imma get you from your house and we can ride off in the sunset. Show him what a real nigga does. You ain't gotta be scared. He wasn't scared or tried to hide when he was flirting with them hoes, was he?"

"You're right. Well, in that case, pull up in the drive way!"

"Bet! Imma be there early! Around 9:30 then,"

"I cannot wait to wear this outfit I've been saving! It's warm and cozy and I got the perfect boots to go with it! Imma go to sleep happy tonight,"

"Guess I should wear something warm and cozy too, huh?"

"Yeah. It's getting chilly outside now,"

"Alright. Well, let's get going. You think home boy at home?"

"Probably. But I don't care," she rolled her eyes.

"You got any pets at home?" I said, grabbing my keys.

"Not anymore. He sold it,"

"My dislike for this man grows everyday,"

"I don't blame you at this point,"
