Taylor spends some quality time with her daughter after the Grammys.

TW: Lizzo, talk of substance abuse, sexual misconduct, haters online, people who are bitter cause their fave didn't win a Grammy. Jewelry that when you look up the price will make you choke on your drink...

Age: 15

You woke up to the sound loud meows and bright lights pouring into your Los angeles bedroom. It was the morning after the Grammy's and you'd thought since you'd gone as your moms date last night Olivia, Meredith and Benji would let you both sleep in but you quickly realized that wasn't happening.

You walked downstairs to the kitchen to see if your mom was awake and to your surprise she was already up getting breakfast for your furry siblings. "Hey, sweetheart." She said stopping what she was doing briefly to kiss you on the forehead.

"Did you have fun with Kelsea and Grace last night?"

"Yeah Kelsea took us to dinner and then we hung out and watched movies in the hotel room." Grace was Kelsea Ballerini's younger sister and they were both good friends of yours and Taylor's. Even though you went with your mom to the award ceremony you weren't to keen on attending the after party so after learning Kelsea and Grace didn't plan on going either you asked her and your mom if you could leave with them.

"I was thinking we could spend the day together. I'll take you to get your hair done and then we can get lunch."

"Aren't you super busy since tour starts in Japan soon," you asked.

"I have a few meetings this morning, but after that I'm free," said Taylor. "Besides I know you're coming with me to Japan but I don't know how much quality time we'll have once we actually get there."

"Okay," you smiled.

You had tried getting some school work done before hanging out with your mom but the rumors you had seen circulating social media were just too distracting. People were just spreading so much negativity about your mom and it was really getting to you.

Taylor really tried to keep you away from the chaos of her job as much as she could by having you keep your social media private, and just teaching you to not actively search for it but there were times when it just managed to get to you.

.

"Honey what's wrong?" Your mom asked during lunch. You had gone to a quiet restaurant 10 minutes outside of LA since the paparazzi didn't know about it.

"It's nothing I just saw some of the stuff people have been saying since the Grammys' and it's not the most positive."

"Y/N, I've told you not to read that stuff," she lectured. "Were they saying things about you?" She asked suddenly getting protective.

"No, it was all just little things they were nitpicking about you. They think you snubbed Celine Dion when you went to accept your award and were rude for 'forcing' Lana on the stage with you. They thought she was upset about not winning," Even though the whole night Lana kept talking about how excited she was to be there and really didn't care about winning?

"Anything else?"

"A lot of people are saying you were drunk and that you got completely wasted. Someone said they think you have a substance abuse problem," you told her before angrily taking another bite of your food. These rumors were completely ridiculous, sure your mom was drinking wine but she was also sipping water throughout the night. Taylor rarely got drunk in front of you you've only ever seen her slightly tipsy and it was never to the point she wasn't still able to control her actions or take care of you.

"Well you and I both know that's far from the truth, babe. It'd be a pretty bad idea to get smashed right before going back on tour don't you think? People can say whatever they want. Haters gonna hate."

"But mom," you sighed. "They're talking about how entitled you were for announcing your new album at the Grammys." They're trying to take away your moment. You should have Tree do something," you argued."

"Sweetheart, calm down." She said taking your hand in hers and making sure you were looking her in the eye. "No matter what we say. The haters we'll keep finding things to complain about, it's what they do. If I think something is bad enough I'll talk to Tree but I don't want you worrying about it okay? My friends, family and the Swifties know my true intentions and that's what's important."

"Okay," you sighed.

"Now why don't we finish lunch and we can go have a friends marathon," she suggested.

You smiled liking the idea.

.

Later that night you were in your room finishing up the school work you'd abandoned that morning when your mom walked into your room. "Hey babe. You're not looking at more troll pages are you?"

"No, I'm not," you sighed.

"Good, cause I know sometimes it's unavoidable but when you come across it the best thing to do is pretend it's not there, and not try to argue back with them," she said giving you a pointed look since it's something you'd done in the past.

"I know it's just when people are complaining about you announcing album of the year but don't care about Jay-Z being a sore loser or Lizzo being there in the middle of a sexual misconduct trial it's frustrating. Also you're not the only person to ever announce an album at an award show, and the crowd was deafeningly excited."

"Yeah it's frustrating but like I said it's better to not focus on that stuff and rise above," she said as she put her arm around you and kissed the top of your head. "Is there anything else you want to talk about."

Your mom does this every night, no matter how busy she is she'll come into your room and you'll snuggle up to talk about anything and everything you want. She's been doing it since you were a little girl. She'd come in to your room every night to tuck you in and you'd get to tell her about anything that was bothering you. Often times you'll fall asleep and she'll bring you to her bed, sometimes you'll both fall asleep and end up staying there for the night. However she couldn't let you close your eyes just yet cause she had a surprise.

"I have a gift for you baby girl," she said pulling out two bags that you must not have noticed her placing on the floor of your room.

"What is it?"

"You'll have to open it and find out."

So you did you were shocked to find the most gorgeous Louis Vuitton purse in the first bag the one you knew she was gifting her team for helping her win album of the year. "It's so adorable mom, I don't know what to say. I love it."

"I'm glad you like it. Open the smaller box."

You saw the most gorgeous diamond necklace from Cartier.

"I know you prefer silver so I got you that one instead of the gold I got the girls on my team," she said as you stared in shock at the diamond. "I didn't get you the tote bag cause you'd said it wasn't really your style. I hope that's okay."

"Okay? Mom. I wasn't expecting to get anything. I didn't help you win album of the year," you said feeling emotional.

"Yes you did baby. You helped me in more ways than you can imagine, don't you ever forget that," she said helping you put on your new necklace.

"I love it thanks mom."

"You're welcome, I love you sweet girl."

"I love you too."
