"I guess they got to it before me..." Yae Miko sighed, a hint of disappointment evident in her voice.

"Ei, I— I don't picture you in such a childish way. I don't need anything coming in between us because of this. This is rather humiliating for me now that I'm facing you like this," Yae Miko confessed, her tone tinged with vulnerability.

Amused, Ei chuckled, "Hehe, you really think I'm going to send copies of it to be published by the Yae Publishing House all over Teyvat? Now you are thinking of me in a childish manner. I am the Almighty Shogun; I'd never humiliate my own subjects to make myself happy. Miko, you don't have to be humiliated because you talk about me in your sleep. Although it is ... interesting ... about how much you ... need me. By your side, all I want to do is..."

Yae Miko leaned in, captivated, "Is ..."

"... Love you," Ei murmured under her breath, the confession hanging in the air.

"Hmm? What was that?" inquired Yae Miko, her initial anxiety calmed by the unexpected revelation.

"L— ... Love you! ... M—Miko, when I read this letter, you have no idea how happy I felt to know that you ... felt the same way ... perhaps?" Ei finished her sentence, sincerity resonating in her words.

"Is—Is that why you brought me to the most private place whatsoever? Well, quite the flirt, aren't you Ei?" Yae Miko teased, the atmosphere in the room shifting to a more playful and flirty tone once again.

As the silence lingered, Ei's expression softened, showing a side of her rarely seen. "Miko, what I feel for you goes beyond our titles. It's not just about being the Shogun; it's about being Ei with you. Your laughter echoes in my thoughts, and your presence warms the eternity I face."

Yae Miko, surprised by Ei's vulnerability, felt a flutter in her heart. "I never expected such feelings from the Almighty Shogun. It's not about what you are; it's about who you are that captivates me."

Ei nodded with a small smile. "Your acceptance means more than the admiration of all my subjects. Sometimes, I long for the simplicity of just being 'Ei' when I'm with you."

"I—I ... I love you too, I must admit, Ei." Confessed Yae Miko.

AUTHORS' NOTE

This light novel EiMiko serie has come to the end. I agree it was rather short, but in the future I wish to progress more, and write more of these two together. :]
